Provincial sports tournament for students in 2022-2023 school year gets animated

With the purpose of further maintaining and promoting the implementation of the campaign "All people exercise their bodies following Uncle Ho's example", helping students regularly practice and compete in sports to improve their health for physical development, contributing to the local comprehensive education, provincial Sports Tournament for Students in the school year of 2022-2023 has officially opened with the first 3 sports, including basketball, soccer and volleyball.

Accordingly, this year's tournament will be held from February 5 to March 31, with the participation of nearly 8,422 students from 38 high-school sports delegations and 9 primary, secondary-school sports delegations across the province. Students will compete in 10 official sports, including athletics, swimming, volleyball, football, basketball, badminton, shuttlecock kicking, table tennis, tug of war and chess. Currently, the tournament is taking place with the first 3 sports, comprising of basketball, volleyball and football.

Organized in the form of socialization, competition sports of the 2022-2023 tournament will be held mainly in two localities, Thu Dau Mot city and Di An city. Locations such as the sporting event halls of An My, Binh Phu, Hung Vuong and Vo Minh Duc high schools, Di An city’s stadium, Becamex Binh Duong’s training ground will be the place where students will compete during the tournament.

It is known that after competitions at the tournament end, leaders of the local education - training sector will have specific assessments about the work of physical education and sports activities in each school while detecting students who are gifted in each sport to further give training for them. This is the premise for the province to prepare forces for the local student sports teams to attend sports activities and tournaments organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in the school year of 2022-2023.
