Provincial Veterans Association makes efforts to help members in economic development

Le Minh Xuan, Vice-Chairman of provincial Veterans Association said that the association made efforts in helping its members develop homebased business, contributing to improving their lives over the past two years.

Along with subsidized loans from the local branch of the Bank for Social Policies, provincial Veterans Association and its affiliates mobilized well-off members to contribute hundreds of millions of dong in order to provide loans with zero or low interest rates for needy ones. Members were also mobilized to help each other in nurslings, breeding animals, sci-tech transfer…Thanks to the above efforts, there was a decrease in the number of poor members. Many new models on saving power and water; upgrading rural roads…were also developed during the time.

Such these apart, the association’s individuals and collectives strived to set achievements for better development. For example, Phu Giao district’s Veterans Association built 2 gratitude houses worth VND60mln each for 2 members. Di An town’s Veterans Association also mobilized members to respond the campaign “Power saving for poor-but-excellent pupils”; present scholarships and learning tools to 167 pupils at town-primary and junior high schools with a total value of more than VND67mln…
