The women’s work has created positive changes, which is the assessment of provincial Women’s Union on implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution No.11-NQ/TW relating to “Women’s work in the period of intensified national industrialization and modernization” between 2007 and 2012.

Nguyen Thi Phuong, vice-chairwoman of provincial Women’s Union said that after five years of implementing the politburo’s Resolution No.11-NQ-TW,  the local authorities and mass organizations’ leadership to the women’s work has seen positive changes. Women have affirmed themselves, actively studied to improve their qualification and virtues. There have also been good changes for the society’s preconception on gender. 

Provincial Women’s Union speeding up dissemination of information to improve women’s knowledge

Over the past time, provincial Women’s Union and its affiliates have sped up dissemination of information about the Law on Gender Equality, the Law on Marriage-Family, the Law on Family Violence Prevention…Communes, wards and towns have also got involved in building legal bookcases to improve the efficiency of the propaganda work.

Provincial Women’s Union and its affiliates have also paid attention to supporting loans and creating jobs for women. Over the past five years, they introduced jobs to 19,000 women; mobilized donors to build 426 charity houses and 6 gratitude ones worth nearly VND9bln for needy women.

In the first half of the year alone, provincial Women’s Union and its affiliates disbursed more than VND70bln in loan for women to develop home based business. They collected more than VND2.1bln from the “Saving Day for Poor Women” program, helping providing loans for 1,270 women. Their credit groups also provided VND9.3bln in loan for 16,000 women…

Many clubs and sub-unions, including the Businesswomen’s Club, the Women’s Unions in non-State enterprises, the sub-unions for female workers at lodging facilities…have also been set up to help women well fulfill their role in family and society.

Apartedly, provincial Women’s Union and its affiliates have attached special importance to the conciliation work. They cooperated with relevant agencies to successfully deal with solve 4,378 cases; provide legal consultancy for 67,864 turns of people over the past five years.

Building up “well-off, equal, advanced and happy families”, “women who are healthy, possessing knowledge, professional skills, dynamic, creative, having compassion and a cultural lifestyle” is one of the great movements of provincial Women’s Union. Hence, the movement has been promoted among women, contributing to raising their awareness and step by step changing the actions of them and their relatives…

In a modern society, women need to be healthy, dynamic, creative and possess knowledge, professional skills…And provincial Women’s Union and its affiliates play a great role in developing more perfect women.
