Provincial Youth Secretary Nguyen Pham Duy Trang: Contributing youth strength to building the motherland

During this March, young persons in the country and in Binh Duong province are striving to make achievements to celebrate the 85^th Youth Union birthday. Binh Duong Newspaper had an interview with Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, member of province Party Standing Committee, member of the Central Youth Union’s Standing Committee, Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Youth Union, to assess achievements of provincial youth and clearly define the youth’s role in the new period. 

- Can you evaluate the outstanding results of provincial young ones in Youth Union activities in the last year?

- With the theme " Binh Duong youth proudly move forwards under the Party flag”, in 2015, provincial Youth Union and affiliates put more efforts into implementing the annual program and obtained comprehensive results. Especially, the activities of Youth Union, youth projects welcoming all-level Party Congress were launched and performed widely among young persons. A lively atmosphere of the youth was at most of activities, from provincial to grassroots level.

Many activities, such as: celebrating the Party, celebrating the Spring, Youth Month, Worker Month and Youth Worker Week, summer activities, summer youth volunteer campaigns, the 1^st young citizens’ congress, voluntary activities turning towards the national border, islands, taking care of youth workers, young ethnic ones, activities to celebrate major holidays… were deployed extensively by provincial Youth Union and branches, created its own traits, attracted the participation of majority youngsters. Youth Union propaganda and education has been increasingly improved in terms of quality, contents, and methods; enhanced solutions to skill training for Union staff; maintained well commendation and reward works, popularized typical models.

In addition, voluntary activities for community were effectively deployed; youth projects implementing youth movements, celebrating patriotic emulation congress and Party Congresses received positive responses. Vocational activities were organized regularly to give vocational guidance, vocational training, job introduction, mobilize social resources to take care of young people. The quality of Union members, branches has been increasingly improved. The work of new elite Union member introduction to Party admission, devising solutions to improve the quality of union activities were paid much attention; works and activities of HCM Young Pioneer Organization were also effectively carried out.

The counseling, coordination, direction of Youth Union has been renewed to become practical and concrete. All programs and schemes proposed by provincial Youth Union were for the youth’s needs and benefits. Movements were invested in terms of content and form, contributing to improving the youth’s material and spiritual life. In addition to grassroots- and province-level activities, Central Youth Union’s programs hosted by Binh Duong provincial youth achieved good results, consolidated the role of Binh Duong provincial youth in national movements, and were appreciated by Central Union and provincial leadership. In 2015, provincial Youth Union received emulation flag of excellent unit, was ranked third nationwide; simultaneously the model of “Typical lodging house and activities taking care of youth workers” acknowledged by the Central Union as the nationwide typical youth project.

- In your opinion, the role of youth in the current period must be confirmed in which ways?

- Binh Duong youth with their creativeness, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, were not deterred by difficulties, have contributed enthusiastically to fulfilling socio-economic development tasks. Majority young ones are conscious of constructing, defensing the nation, national interests and national position; are aspiring to devote themselves to the socio-economic development of the province. The recent achievements of Binh Duong province consisted of the significant contribution of young persons. Through learning, working, training, devoting, a new young generation has grown up emerged many good examples, contributing to confirming the role of young generations.

Union activities have also contributed to the common construction for a civilized, modern Binh Duong in the future. Through movements, the youth have manifested their pioneering role in many typical activities, such as: urban beautification, new rural construction, environmental protection, maintaining traffic order safety, supporting disadvantaged young persons, free medical examination and medication, blood donation, implementing socio-economic development projects in localities…

With youth strength, enthusiasm, courage and the will to rise, with faith, loyalty to the Party and the nation, living in a peaceful environment and outstanding development of the province, Binh Duong youth will continue to cultivate their virtues, train skills, utilize advances of culture, science, modern technologies, promote the good traditions of the homeland in order to become a new class of people, actively participate in building the motherland and Binh Duong province.

- On the occasion of the 85^th anniversary of Youth Union foundation, do you want to share something to young people in the province?

- In the national renovation process, the role and responsibility of young ones in building and protecting the country has become higher. We must zealously better ourselves, improve vigilance and sense of national defense, pioneer in all aspects. Education for the youth must be integrated into concrete movements, revolutionary actions. The youth need to devote ourselves, promote capabilities, pioneering spirit in youth movements. Each youth member should use all capabilities, creativity, progressive spirit, enthusiasm to pioneer in all fields to build up the motherland becomes more prosperous, civilized and modern.
