Provincial YPOs at all levels take care of children’s spiritual and material lives

In response to the “One million glasses of milk” program and “Books” journey launched by the Central Committee of the Young Pioneer Organization (YPO) together with the program of “One thousands of gift baskets sharing love in Covid-19 prevention” for needy children, provincial YPOs at all levels have opportunely shared difficulties with children affected by Covid-19 pandemic.

Accordingly, provincial Youth Union Standing Committee and YPO have just offered one ton of rice, 200 gifts, 2,000 glasses of milk and 2,000 books worth VND70million to needy children at charity classes and young workers ‘offspring. As planned, the YPOs of Thu Dau Mot, Di An and Thuan An cities will donate at least 5,000 glasses of milk while the remaining YPOs will deliver at least 3,000 glasses of milk to needy children.

Thuan An city’s YPO coordinates with relevant units to offer 1,000 glasses of milk, 500 notebooks, 50 gifts and 10 books to children at Binh Hoa ward’s lodging sub-union

The program is divided into 2 phases. The first phase of the program from April 22 to the period of announcing the end of Covid-19 pandemic will focus on supporting the offspring of young workers at lodging facilities and those without jobs. The second phase will include many nutrition activities for needy teenagers and children, especially those in remote areas…The expenditure of the program will come from the “Small plan” fund, social organizations and enterprises.

For the books-giving program, provincial YPO has encouraged units to coordinate with libraries or organizations, individuals to offer books, newspapers to YPO members, children at contests, forums…Each units will strive to mobilize and hand over 400 books, newspapers to YPO members and children.

Tran Bao Lam, Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union, Chairman of provincial YPO said that the program of “One million glasses of milk” program and “Books” journey aims to raise a sense of responsibility of YPOs at all levels in creating favorable conditions for children to get enough nutrition facts and education of morality, lifestyle while contributing to developing reading culture among them. The program also calls on the community to pay attention to comprehensive development of the owners of the future of the country as well as supporting children with extremely-difficult circumstances…
