Pupils grow up from life skills training

Update: 09-03-2013 | 00:00:00

Practicing life skills in study and other daily activities is very important for primary school pupils. Hence, since the beginning of the 2012-2013 academic year, Petrus Ky Primary-Secondary School has organized an extra-curricular program on life skills among primary school pupils. The program aims to help them train on friendly behaviors in all situations, health and awareness of self-protection…

Useful lessons

Under the extra-curricular program, pupils at the school will be educated about the values of life, including skills on love, solidarity, responsibility and creation.

All the life skills are communicated by volunteers of the program through many interesting games, film shows and stories, helping pupils build the beauty of their soul, educating them about life skills and helping them know to express their love to others.

The lesson about creation from the use of paper or straws to make greeting cards and pencil cases has helped pupils flexibly think.

The theme of each teaching period during the training course is always changed by volunteers of the program, helping pupils not feel boring. Huynh Thai Tu, a 4th grader of the school said: “I’m very joyous and pleased with useful lessons from volunteers of the program. I have felt values of the lessons about respect to adults, love and assistance to friends, listening to other people…”.

Growing up from training course

Attending activities of the extra-curricular program on life skills training has helped pupils feel more comfortable. Pupils will learn the meaning and goal for themselves from the message from each lesson of the program. They will know about their own ability and value in order to have self-confidence. Working in group will also help them uphold their communication skill, self-confidence and flexible thought when integrating into life.

To teacher Nguyen Thi Hoa, educating pupils about life skills is very important as it will help form up their personality when growing up. Upon this, the school has organized an extra-curricular program on life skills for pupils, helping them know about the values of life such as love, respect, solidarity and mutual assistance for their orientations in the future…

Possibly speaking, life skills training is a necessary activity for pupils, helping them get more self-confident and mature. But, coordination between family and school needs to be strengthened to help pupils better uphold their knowledge from extra-curricular training courses. This will form up necessary life skills among them from daily activities.
