Q1-2024, provincial socio-economic situation continues to have positive changes

On April 23, at Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center, the Provincial People's Committee held a regular press conference to provide information on the socio-economic, defense and security situations in the first quarter of 2024. Vo Anh Tuan, Chief of Office of Provincial People's Committee, and Le Tuan Anh, Director of Provincial Department of Information and Communications, chaired the press conference.

According to reports of Provincial People's Committee, in the first quarter of 2024, the province's socio-economic development situation continued to have positive changes, most indicators increased compared to the same period in 2023. Gross regional product (GRDP) in the first quarter of 2024 increased by 5.27% year-on-year; Total retail sales of goods and service revenue were estimated at VND 81,177 billion, an increase of 12.5%; Export turnover reached US$8 billion, up 16.2%; Accumulated four months reached US$11 billion, up 15.6% over the same period last year...

The province well implemented social security policies, fully and promptly implemented policies for people with meritorious services to the revolution. Currently, the province is completing the Binh Duong Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision for 2050 according to comments of the National Appraisal Council; carries out investment procedures for 8 social housing projects with a size of 39 hectares, with 13,046 apartments, total floor area of about 933,514m2...

At the press conference, press agencies inside and outside the province asked questions related to many groups of issues, such as: security and order, education, social security; site clearance issues for key projects in the province; labor and employment situation; social housing construction implementation plan; management of spontaneous child care facilities...
