Que Huong charity center, a place of great compassion

Que Huong charity center in the southern province of Binh Duong will mark its 11th anniversary on December 10 ahead. During the 11 past years, the center has brought up and protected thousands of orphans and disable children, many of them have grown up and well integrated into community. Many other unfortunate fates will further enjoy the joy of life from the center.

Happiness from center

On these days, spring seems to come early to children at Que Huong charity center because the center is preparing many activities to mark its 11th anniversary.

Since coming to Que Huong charity center, the livelihood of orphans and disable children has got more significant. They have been made favorable conditions to exchange with singers and art troupes in and out of the province on Tet and great holidays. Currently, nearly 100 normal children attend the local schools while disable ones are educated at the center. The center has also created favorable conditions for some others to attend vocational training classes on motorbike repair, sewing…

So far, many children herein have grown up and well integrated into the community. With those reaching adulthood, the center has also provided them with jobs at province-based companies…

Huynh Tieu Huong, Director of Que Huong charity center said that the center faced difficulties regarding finance in the initial period and then thanks to contributions by organizations and individuals, the center has gradually gone into stability.

The center is now home to 329 children, 171 of whom are orphans. The center has attached special importance to giving vocational training to children, helping them be able to earn their living and become useful citizens for the society in the future.

Humanitarian journey

In 2010, Que Huong charity center built two tenement houses on a 7,000sq.m, including 28 rooms, with the capacity of around 300 children. This was a significant event, contributing to improving the livelihood of children at the center.

The center has also paid attention to the spiritual life of children herein. With this significance, the center built a house of worship “Huynh surname” in 2011.

Such these apart, the center has actively offered help to people with difficulties in and out of the province. Over the past 11 months, the center built 2,640 gratitude houses; awarded 4,750 scholarships to poor-but-excellent pupils; offered help of VND14.7bln for the poor; introduced jobs to 8,500 people; presented 18,561 wheelchairs, 950 bicycles and 41,556 gifts to the poor…
