Que Huong Charity Center marks its 13th anniversary
Early December 10, Que Huong Charity Center held a ceremony to mark its 13th anniversary (December 10, 2001-December 10, 2014). Attending the event was Nguyen Trong Dam, Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
Thanks to the whole society’s support, the center has so far made contributions to social charity activities in and out of the province. The center’s material facilities have been improved after 13 years of development, contributing to taking good care of disadvantaged children herein. Along with giving care for more than 330 orphan and disable children, the center has so far built houses of compassion; given gifts, scholarships, wheelchairs, bicycles and created jobs for the poor with a total expense of more than VND16bln.
On this occasion, the center presented 1,000 gifts, 50 scholarships and 10 wheelchairs to the disabled and poor-but-excellent pupils in and out of the province with a total value of more than VND250mln.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr.Dam said that this was a house for disadvantaged people while hoping that the center would further perfect its material facilities to be able to take better care of orphans herein.
