Ensuring necessary conditions for new school year

The 2022-2023 school year is coming very close. To prepare for the new school year, all schools in the province have sent staff and teachers on duty to regularly clean campuses, maintain teaching aids and equipment, etc. to welcome students back to school.

Right at the end of the 2021-2022 school year, the management boards of schools in the province advised leaders of the Education and Training Divisions on investing and renovating a number of degraded items of schools while requesting to add some material facilities, ensuring teaching and learning. Compared with the previous school years, the preparation of material facilities for the new school year in the localities has been proactively implemented quite early. During the summer break, some schools soon started upgrading, repairing and building new material facilities.

At Tran Van On high school in Ben Cat town, these days, teachers are working hard, cleaning the school’s campus to prepare for the new school year. In the 2022-2023 school year, the school has a total of 2,058 students with 39 classes, an increase of more than 1,000 students compared to the previous school year. Ha Thi Diem Phuc, Principal of Tran Van On high school said: “The time from now to the 2022-2023 new school year is not much. To ensure all the best conditions for the new school year, we are urgently completing all preparations for material facilities, equipment and school supplies, being ready for opening the new school with determination at the highest level. The school will use all the function rooms for students to have a place to study. The school has also received donations from other schools with 250 sets of tables and chairs, and boarding materials in accordance with the increased number of students. Currently, the school’s teachers are cleaning and decorating classrooms, collecting revenues at the beginning of the new school year under the regulations; organizing art performance items to prepare for the opening ceremony of the new school year".

Nguyen Thi Nhat Hang, Director of provincial Department of Education and Training said that in order to ensure the quality of education for the whole school year, the local education and training sector organized training courses on new educational programs for teachers by many forms so that schools are not passive when applying them. As of now, schools in the province have fully prepared conditions to welcome students back to school and open the new school year. The sector is ready to make plans to best meet the requirements of the new school year, ensuring the local quality of teaching and learning.

Being proactive in pandemic prevention and control

Facing the complicated developments of dengue fever and the resurgence of Covid-19 pandemic together with a number of other infectious diseases, schools in the province are urgently implementing many anti-pandemic measures to welcome students back to school. In order to have a good learning environment in the new school year, currently province-based schools have mobilized staff, teachers, hired more workers to tidy up, ensuring clean and spacious material facilities.

Ngo Hieu, Principal of Ly Thai To high school in Thuan An city said that in order to prevent and control infectious diseases such as dengue fever, Covid-19, foot-and-mouth disease that are circulating and showing signs of outbreaks, the school has cleaned classrooms, tables and chairs, sprayed disinfectant throughout the school’s campus, repaired toilets...

Whilst, Pham Van Xuan, Principal of Chanh Nghia secondary school in Thu Dau Mot city said that the school is mobilizing teachers to participate in cleaning classrooms before students return to school, aiming to ensure safety and hygiene for students and teachers. Over the past days, the school also coordinated with the ward’s health station to vaccinate students against Covid-19. In order to well organize the vaccination campaign, the school has well prepared material facilities, assigned teachers to support medical staff in vaccination. In particular, the school also paid attention to encouraging children so that they had a comfortable and happy spirit during the injection session.

Over the past time, schools also assigned teachers to further connect with parents to propagandize the benefits of vaccination against Covid-19. As a result, parents actively took their children to vaccination site to be fully vaccinated as recommended by the health sector, ensuring the health of themselves and other students. Currently, many schools are coordinating with medical facilities to vaccinate students against Covid-19 before the new school year. All conditions have been prepared well so that students can go to school for studying and playing in a safe environment right from the beginning of the new school year.

In the 2022-2023 school year, Binh Duong has 742 schools, up 11 with the total number of students at all levels from preschool to high school expected to increase by 29,922 compared to the 2021-2022 school year. Based on the school construction investment results, at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, the whole sector has additional 381 classrooms; 100% of well-built schools, including 315 out of 392 public schools and centers built with storeys or  80.35% of total.
According to provincial People's Committee’s decision on promulgating the time frame of the 2022-2023 school year, students at preschools, primary, secondary, high schools and continuing education institutions will come back to school on August 29. Primary, secondary, high schools and continuing education institutions will hold the opening ceremony of the new school year on September 5. Also on September 5, preschools will organize a school day.
