Update: 05-10-2022 | 12:42:19

The 7th provincial Veterans Association Congress for the 2022-2027 tenure will take place on October 6 and 7. As of now, preparations for the congress have been basically completed, being ready for it to take place successfully.

Grassroots congress completed

Up to now, all 91 commune/ward/ township-level branches and all 9 district-level branches of provincial Veterans Association have successfully organized the congress for the 2022-2027 tenure on schedule. Through the congress, the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and Inspection Committee were elected with young age, capacity, good qualities at requirements in the new context. The political reports closely followed the guidelines of provincial Veterans Association, evaluated the results of the implementation of the targets in the last tenure and set out appropriate directions, tasks and solutions in line with the new tenure. Along with leading and directing its branches to organize the congress, provincial Veterans Association has actively prepared for provincial congress for the 2022-2027 tenure.

Good preparations

Pham Tuong Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial Veterans Association said that provincial Veterans Association Congress for the 2022-2027 tenure is an extensive and comprehensive political activity in the association's organization and officials and members with the participation of 200 delegates. In order for the congress to be held successfully, since early this year, provincial Veterans Association has set up a plan to organize the congress, established subcommittees for documents, personnel, decoration…

Provincial Veterans Association meeting to prepare for its congress for the 2022-2027 tenure

According to Mr. Liem, all contents such as congress documents, personnel plans, time and venue of the congress have been carefully prepared by provincial Veterans Association, sent to its branches to discuss and submit them to the Vietnam Veterans Association and provincial Party Committee for approval.

Specifically, for the draft report on the results of the 2017-2022 tenure, orientations  and tasks for the 2022-2027 tenure, provincial Veterans Association has clearly analyzed and assessed the advantages, disadvantages and lessons learned in the last tenure. Accordingly, over the past 5 years, with the spirit of innovation, solidarity and responsibility, officials and members of provincial Veterans ‘Association made great efforts to fulfill the targets set out by the Resolution of the 6th Congress, including the ones exceeding the plan. Provincial Veterans Associations at all levels actively participated in building and protecting the Party, government and socialist regime, actively contributing to the success of Party Congresses at all levels and the elections of deputies to National Assembly, People's Councils at all levels. The movement of “veterans helping each other reduce poverty, well do business” also reached good results, reducing the proportion of poor households, increasing the proportion of rich households compared to the previous tenure.

Especially, in the last tenure, provincial Veterans Associations at all levels have well done the task of propagandizing, mobilizing officials and members to actively participate in Covid-19 prevention and control, joining hands with all-levels Party committees, authorities, mass organizations and the whole people to fight against the pandemic. The association also focused on member admission, increasing the total number of members higher than the previous term. The staff of the association were consolidated in the direction of streamlining, gradually improving in quality, effectiveness, efficiency...

In addition to achieved results, the document also points out shortcomings for change. For example, the policy of "1 focus, 3 breakthroughs" was unanimously approved by provincial Veterans Associations at all levels, initially reaching certain results, but its effect has not been achieved as expected. The movement of “veterans helping each other reduce poverty and well do business” has not been uniform. Although the association’s planning work has been carried out, it is still awkward and not basic...

According to Pham Tuong Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial Veterans Association, the 7th provincial Veterans Congress will carry out four key contents, including: giving contributive ideas to the draft political report of the Executive Committee of the 6th provincial Veterans Association to submit it to the 7th provincial Veterans Association for the 2022-2027 tenure and additional contributions and amendments to the charter of the 6th provincial Veterans Association; summarizing the activities of provincial Veterans Association for the 2017-2022 tenure, setting out directions and tasks for the 2022-2027 tenure; electing the Executive Committee of the 7th provincial Veterans Association for the 2022-2027 tenure and electing a delegation to attend the superior congress; recommending members of the Association to the Executive Committee of the 7th Vietnam Veterans Association for the 2022-2027 tenure.

With the close direction and thoughtful preparation in all aspects, it is believed that the 7th provincial Veterans Congress for the 2022-2027 tenure will take place successfully, thereby further encouraging the generations of veterans to maintain and uphold the nature of Uncle Ho's soldiers, creating a premise for the development of the movements and activities of provincial Veterans Association in the new tenure.
