On November 4, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Decision No. 1325/QD-TTg, issuing a plan for implementing the Southeastern Region Development Plan for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision toward 2050 (abbreviated as Decision No. 1325/QD-TTg). Accordingly, the Southeastern region will strongly develop several industrial sectors, including mechanical processing and manufacturing, petrochemicals, downstream petrochemical products, oil-based products and chemicals. Priority will be given to spearheading industries, new and high-tech sectors such as electronics - telecommunications; the production of robots, integrated automation equipment, remote-controlled devices, software production, digital products, information security, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, biological products, drug production, vaccines, new materials…
Additionally, the Southeastern region will establish modern industrial-service-urban parks and high-tech industrial parks. New information technology hubs will be created in Ho Chi Minh city, forming up an industrial IT center, attracting investment for manufacturing electrical and electronic products, Internet of Things (IoT) products and Artificial Intelligence (AI) products in the provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau. The Southeastern region will vigorously and comprehensively develop a national and international logistics system connected to international seaports, airports, gateways, major economic corridors and inter-regional trade routes in Ho Chi Minh city, Binh Duong, Long Thanh, Nhon Trach (Dong Nai), Phu My (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) and Tay Ninh.
For Binh Duong province, implementing Decision No. 1325/QD-TTg aligns well with its provincial development plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. Binh Duong is prioritizing the development of modern service-industrial-urban park and high-tech industrial parks; green industry, clean energy, renewable energy aligned with environmental protection; and high-quality, high-value-added services in finance, banking, insurance, information technology, telecommunications, science and technology.
Moreover, Binh Duong has paid attention to developing synchronous and modern infrastructure facilities, prioritizing economic-social infrastructure projects, especially traffic connectivity, social infrastructure, high-tech park and industrial park infrastructure projects. Binh Duong is also accelerating the transition of industrial parks that do not align with the current plan and constructing social housing projects to ensure living conditions for low-income workers and employees in industrial parks. All of these efforts are the foundation for Binh Duong to realize its strategy of becoming an economic engine based on digital platforms.
