Reference exchange rate continues going down on May 8

The daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar fell 3 VND from the previous day to 24,927 VND/USD on May 8.

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,927 VND/USD on May 8, down 3 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 26,173 VND/USD and the floor rate 23,681 VND/USD.

At 8:25 am, the opening-hour rates at major commercial banks saw mixed fluctuations.

Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 25,780 VND/USD and the selling rate at 26,140 VND/USD, unchanged from the May 7 morning session.

BIDV cut both rates by 10 VND, posting the buying rate at 25,780 VND/USD and the selling rate at 26,140 VND/USD./.
