Renovating customs management and facilitating businesses’ operation

Sharing with Binh Duong Newspaper about Binh Duong Customs’ constant development, Nguyen Phuoc Viet Dung, head of Binh Duong Customs said that after 22 years of construction and development, Binh Duong Customs has showed a great change, especially IT application into reform and modernization of customs procedures. These changes are considered as a “watchman of the national economy”.

Customs sector must both offer favorable conditions for trade operation in conformity with the world and region’s common playground in a bid to lure foreign businesses and ensure well implementation of measures of preventing and controlling smuggling and trade fraud.

Therefore, management and means serving for the sector’s operation have been invested to keep pace with nations in the region and world.

One of Binh Duong Customs’ other big changes lies in the work of building a clean and strong customs force, meeting reform requirements in conformity with development of every period. Since 2008, Binh Duong Customs has maintained and implemented effectively system of quality management of ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 9001:2008.

What concrete measures does Binh Duong Customs set out to help businesses gain advantages in production and business?

In the past, most of imported goods batches were checked on handwork, causing difficulties and slowing down process of customs clearance.

Thanks to applying advanced technology, businesses save time and cost, Most of customs procedures are implemented by e-ways.

What key tasks will Binh Duong Customs set out from now till the year’s end and the subsequent years, sir?

In this year, we must focus on completing budget goals entrusted by the Finance Ministry and the provincial People’s Committee and simultaneously hastening and effectively implementing modernization and facilitating businesses’ operation.

Binh Duong Customs will have to go with businesses to help them overcome difficulties and create long-term budget collection sources through activities of consultancy, dialogue and so on.

In the next year, Binh Duong Customs will launch system of e-declaration in line with new edition sponsored by Japan. In the subsequent year we will continue maintaining and improving efficiency of goods inspection by box scanners and focusing on manpower training.
