Reproductive healthcare programs for female workers

Binh Duong has absorbed a large number of laborers at the local development demand, more than 70% of whom are female ones. With the efforts by the local sectors, mass organizations, female workers herein have approached and enjoyed a lot of reproductive healthcare programs, thereby helping change their actions to be able to protect their own rights & interests and live more responsibly.

Consultancy on reproductive health getting animated

At the weekend, female workers gathered at Thanh Binh lodging sub-union for young workers in An Thanh ward’s Thanh Binh quarter in Thuan An town to attend a consultancy program on reproductive healthcare.

The program provided female workers herein with information about reproductive health; disseminated the Law on Gender Equality, the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention, breastfeeding, how to reduce gender imbalance at birth among them; delivered condoms, propaganda leaflets on reproductive healthcare to them…

Joining hands to make reproductive healthcare for female workers

Binh Duong is now home to more than 800,000 laborers, 70% of whom are female ones. Especially, female workers in the garment-textile industry account for more than 80% of total.

In recent years, female workers in the province have gradually got access to reproductive healthcare services. This is also the key to building up harmonious labor relations between employers and employees, increasing productivity and products’ quality.

Particularly, along with providing periodic medical check-ups, Hoya Lend VN Co.Ltd. over the past time invited physicians to make gynaecological check-ups for female workers while disseminating information of reproductive healthcare, family planning among them. Whilst, Chi Hung Joint Venture Co.Ltd. also set up a club on reproductive healthcare for female workers with exchange programs on the issues of gender equality, healthcare after giving birth…organized every month.

Bui Thanh Nhan, Chairman of provincial Labor Union said that over the past time, provincial Labor Union attached special importance to reproductive healthcare for female workers. The Labor Union took initiative in mobilizing employers and employees to well obey policies on reproductive healthcare and family planning, especially carried out some models at industrial parks crowded with female workers at the child-bearing age in order to provide them with knowledge on reproductive health.

Such these apart, provincial Labor Union instructed trade unions at all levels to bring knowledge on reproductive healthcare into their periodic meetings; mobilized employers to create favorable conditions for female workers to learn about reproductive healthcare and family planning; diversified propaganda activities, helping female workers know more about their rights and interests for voluntary involvement.
