Required marks of 10th grade entrance exam expected to increase

The provincial Department of Education and Training just
reviewed the 10th grade entrance exam for the school year of
2014-2015. The exam was held in the end of June and included 3 exam subjects of
literature, math and English.
The department will admit 70% of 10th grade students into state-owned high schools among 10,534 examinees. This year’s exam questions were more difficult than the past year’s.
Result of the entrance exam showed that quality of entries in this year was higher than the past year. Specifically, literature won 72.3% of average marks and math reached 46%.
The department’s leaders will base on exam results and admission quotas to set out required marks for every district and town. However, this year’s required marks is expected to increase compared with the last year.
