At the event, provincial Youth Union Standing Committee and Police Agency’s Youth Department presented five gifts worth VND 1 million each, to five families with relatives who were injured or killed in traffic accidents with difficult circumstances while giving 50 helmets for Young Union members. Additionally, the organizers held a donation campaign to support people affected by Yagi typhoon. At the end of the ceremony, Youth Union members were informed of the traffic order situation in the province; received safe driving instructions; visited booths displaying information on traffic culture, booths offering discounts on car and motorbike driving tuition and car driving simulation software; especially launching a contest to learn about online traffic safety laws in Binh Duong province in 2024 via Myaloha software.

Thai Chi Ngoang, a Youth Union member from Tuong Binh Hiep ward said: “I understand that traffic culture is an issue receiving special concern from the society. The consequences of traffic accidents not only affect individuals and families, are but also a major barrier to the socio-economic development of the country and each locality. The causes may be either objective or subjective, mainly due to poor awareness, especially drunk driving cases. Therefore, we, the youth, need to raise our awareness of complying with traffic safety laws, participating in traffic in a civilized and safe manner. This not only ensures safety for everyone, but also helps ourselves and our families remain happy.

Each Youth Union member is a propagandist

Over the past years, under the campaign of "Youth with traffic culture" launched by the Secretariat of the Youth Union Central Committee, the Standing Committee of provincial Youth Union strengthened dissemination of information on traffic laws and traffic culture building by propaganda activities via mass media, social media platforms and the Youth Union’s communication channels while directing and guiding the local Youth Unions at all levels to effectively carry out traffic safety work at grassroots levels, achieving many encouraging results with specific, practical actions. As a result, the local Youth Unions at all levels came up with many new methods and effective models in promoting traffic culture; organized the signing of commitments participating in civilized traffic; formed up volunteer youth teams to cooperate with authorities in maintaining traffic order; established quick response teams and clubs to handle traffic accidents and assist the public; built self-managed youth alleys, safe ferry docks, safe school gates... Many effective volunteer youth models in traffic order maintenance were also implemented and expanded.

Units sign commitments in response to the 2024 "Youth with Traffic Culture" campaign

Le Tuan Anh, Permanent Vice Secretary of provincial Youth Union, called on Youth Union members in the province to respond to the 2024 Traffic Safety Month, creating a strong widespread effect. He emphasized that units should focus on such tasks as strengthening communication work; organizing competitions and educational activities on traffic safety; coordinating with authorities to enhance inspection and handle infringements; carrying out community activities via encouraging Youth Union members to get involved in  traffic support at crowded intersections, schools, industrial parks or schools with traffic jams.

In addition, units should promote the "Traffic Safety School Gate" models in schools, helping parents and students develop good habits when picking up and dropping off students; spread the traffic culture message through emulation movements, in which each Youth Union member should become an exemplary propagandist in family and community regarding compliance with traffic laws. They also need to enhance digital transformation in traffic safety education and propaganda...
