Responding to the National Week of clean water and sanitation

The annual "National Week of clean water and sanitation" (from Apr 29 to May 6) are responded actively by agencies, units and people in Binh Duong province. The activity has obtained positive results of water supply and sanitation and contributed to change the life quality and conditions of people in rural areas and the new rural construction.

This year, provincial People’s Committee directed agencies, sectors, localities to organize activities in response to the National Week of clean water and sanitation. Accordingly, Department of Health directed branches to review, maintain, upgrade clean water supply and sanitary latrine projects, health centers in rural areas must ensure sufficient clean water and sanitary latrine; test, monitor water quality in rural areas, households and rural sanitation projects; select, popularize models of sanitary latrines in accordance with specific conditions of each locality and financial resources of local people. In addition, agencies and localities need to popularize techniques for construction, use and storage of sanitary latrine models; organize professional trainings, health education for medical staff of all levels to propagate clean water, environmental sanitation, personal hygiene among the community in rural areas.
