Restructuring of local service sector towards increasing competitiveness

In the 2021-2025 period, the province’s service sector will focus on restructuring towards increasing competitiveness and promoting potential, hi-tech services for breakthrough. This is also the goal of the draft program on “developing hi-quality services at requirement of urban-industrial development towards civilization and modernity” set out by provincial Party Committee to realize the Resolution of the 11^th provincial Party congress.

Motivation from Program 24

Provincial Party Committee’s Program No.24-CTr/TU dated August 16, 2016 on “Further developing hi-quality services for urban-industrial development in the 2016-2020 period” was among 4 breakthrough programs in the implementation of the Resolution of the 10^th provincial Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure. Under the program, since 2016, the province’s service sector has continued reaching positive results, accounting for 24.41% of the local economic structure. The province’s hi-quality services also gained strong development over the past time, greatly contributing to the local urban-industrial development.

The province’s hi-quality services like banking-finance, logistics, trade, export-import, healthcare, human resource development, technology information… also contributed to promoting the local industrial development. In addition, the province’s international payment services, national-international events, smart city development project…were implemented with focus on building major technological infrastructure works at investors ‘demand for new fields in fostering industrial manufacture, hi-quality services, contributing to absorbing investment projects, promoting the local industrial manufacture, improving the spiritual and material lives of people from all strata, strengthening the local urbanization process towards civilization and modernity.

Solutions to foster services

Based on achievements done and shortcomings pointed out, provincial Party Committee has just made a program “Focusing on developing hi-quality services at requirement of urban-industrial development towards civilization and modernity” in order to successfully realize the Resolution of the 11^th Party congress for the 2020-2025 tenure. The program will create great impacts on the local progress of industrialization and modernization.

Accordingly, the objective of the program is to develop hi-quality services in a synchronous way for urban-industrial development towards civilization and modernity, contributing to the shift of the local economic structure. This will help develop Binh Duong into a modern industrial hub and a smart city of the region and the whole country to 2045. In the 2021-2025 period, the province will focus on restructuring of the local service sector towards improving competitiveness, mobilizing resources to promote potential and hi-tech services like banking-finance, logistics, transportation, information technology, science-technology, education-training, healthcare…, creating a reasonable, stable and long-term lever system for breakthrough in the local service development.

To well realize the above objective, the province will bend on taking solutions to enhance State management capacity; promote major service projects, works and products; strengthen the linkage to improve the added value of service products; make the planning for hi-tech service development; develop human resources; ensure the local environment for sustainable urban-industrial development…
