Revival of heroic days of 1968 uprising

Early January 30, Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee marked the 50th anniversary of 1968 uprising. Attending the meeting, Nguyen Minh Triet, the former President, Vietnamese heroic mothers, Tran Van Nam, member of Central Committee of CPV cum Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee and Provincial NA Delegation, Nguyen Huu Tu, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Thanh Liem, member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee cum Chair of Provincial Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee, Mai Hung Dung, member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee and permanent Deputy Chair of Provincial People’s Committee, all-time heroic armed force, leaders of Military Corps. No. 7, all-time leaders, former soldiers and officers of the provincial armed force in the 1968 uprising, representatives of families of contribution, religious figures and representatives of ethnic group in the province.

At the get-together, the delegates recalled the heroic time of the 1968 uprising. In 3 offensive attacks, local forces have eliminated 17,000 US and puppet government soldiers, causing heavy damages to the enemy, pushing them to defensive positions of Saigon. Local armed forces had made use of creative combat in waterway regions and urban outskirts as well as tactics and strategies in the battlefields.

Leaving the past behind, Vietnam and Binh Duong have been known to the world of integration. In 2017, 10 out of 29 criteria of resolution of Provincial People’s Council have exceeded the plan and 18 at the planned targets. GRDP in 2017 grew by 9.15% with GRDP per persona of VND 120 million. By October 31, 2017, the province has attracted VND 41,016 billion of domestic investment, increasing by 51.4% and US$ 2.557 billion of foreign investment, exceeding 82.6% of the year plan. National targets of new rural area construction and sustainable poverty reduction have been the highlight of Binh Duong transformation.
