Update: 29-09-2014 | 10:42:42

Binh Duong Television Elderly Singing festival has long become an indispensable playground of southern areas’ elderly people on occasion of International Day of the Elderly (1st October). In this year’s festival, many teams sang about the great uncle Ho, soldiers, especially naval soldiers day and night guarding national islands.

Images of soldiers with patriotic pride were described lively in the song “Chung toi la nguoi linh Bac Ho” (We are soldiers of uncle Ho) by composer Pham Manh Toan. This was also the most chosen song to perform by many teams in this event. “We are soldiers of uncle Ho. Wearing the national blue. The blue of the country, the blue of love. Every inch of ground absorbs the ancestors’ blood. Despite hardships, even sacrifices. We soldiers are always ready…”

Performance of Hai Dang Club (Ba Ria – Vung Tau) portrayed naval soldiers at this year’s festival.

Despite high ages, elderly men and women made young audiences admire while performing. Additionally, there were many beautiful songs about national islands. Among these pictures, naval soldiers were a prominent feature guarding national islands around the clock.

To these old persons, years of fighting for the present peaceful country were their pride and unforgettable memories. Through melodies, ardours in performances, the elderly wished that young people could also devote themselves to the country.
