Scientific Conference on "Vietnamese Traditional Buddhism - Contribution to the Dharma and the Nation"

On June 16, at the Provincial Buddhist Cultural Center, a Scientific Conference took place: "Traditional Vietnamese Buddhism - Contribution to the Dharma and the Nation". The seminar was jointly organized by the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, the Institute for Religious Studies, the Traditional Buddhist Sect, the Vietnam Buddhist Society and the Buddhist Research Institute. Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, Standing Member, Head of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee attended and presented flowers to congratulate the workshop.

Scientific workshop to review the traditions of Vietnamese traditional Buddhism. Nearly 40 years ago, on November 7, 1981, at the Quan Su Pagoda, Hanoi Capital took place a very important event that unified Buddhist sects and organizations nationwide to establish. Participants in the seminar also discussed such topics as: Historical background and the formation of Traditional Buddhism; the contributions of the Traditional Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha to the dharma and the nation.
