Seafood exporters eye EU market

The enterprises hope to promote trade, seek partners, sign contracts and advertise Vietnamese seafood products in the European market.

The biggest annual seafood fair in Europe brings together nearly 1,600 seafood producers, processors and consumers from 70 countries all over the world.

Seafood processing technology and packaging equipment, will be on display at the expo along with services for maintaining hygiene and ensuring quality. 

In the first three months of this year, Vietnam exported US$200 million in seafood to Europe, a decrease of 8 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the Vietnamese General Department of Customs.

Europe is considered one of Vietnam’s key markets, accounting for nearly 20 percent of Vietnamese seafood exports.
