Seeking out ways for rural industries out

On Oct. 20, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held a 5-year summing up conference on implementing Decree 66/2006/ND-CP on policies for rural industries’ development with the participation of departments and provinces and cities.

 

Rural laborers are in need of vocational training classes.

The conference assessed a 5-year result of launching Decree 66 as well as guided implementation of policies for rural industries’ development, petitioned supplement policies in conformity with an instruction of building new rural areas.

At present, the whole country has had 4,575 craft villages, 1,324 of which are recognized in line with Circular 116/2006/TT.

Income from the craft villages is much higher than agriculture. In Binh Duong, the entire province has had 152 industries including traditional and new jobs. The locality has held 76 training classes on marketing, vocational training for 1,550 laborers and transferred technology with the total capital of VND5,533bil.

The locality has set out some petitions of building and issuing legal documents to concretize the Law on Environmental Protection for craft villages, supporting vocational training expenses, increasing preferential credit capital for rural industries in a bid to renovate equipment, technology and spur export…
