Senior delegation of Daejeon City welcomed in Binh Duong Province

Early November 2, at Party Committee Office, Mai The Trung, the member of Central Committee of CPV cum National Assembly Delegation Head, and Tran Van Nam, the Secretary cum Provincial People’s Committee Chair have warmly welcomed the senior delegation of Korean Daejeon City, led by Kwon Sun Taik, the Major and Kim In Sik, the City Council Chair.

At the reception ceremony, Mr. Mai The Trung highly appreciated the good relationship of Daejeon City and Binh Duong Province in the last 10 years. The intensified exchange and cooperation of the two localities has brought up high investment luring from South Korea into Binh Duong Province. Accordingly, 528 investment projects from South Korea of totally US$ 2.47 billion are operating, ranked secondly of project quantity and thirdly of investment capital from 41 nations and territories into Binh Duong Province. Mr. Mai The Trung highly appreciated the supports of medical aspects implemented by South Korea in Binh Duong Province, contributing to public healthcare in the province. He highly appreciated the active Korean enterprises in charity drives and believed in more developing mutual relationship for the time to come.

Mr. Kwon Sun Taik, on behalf of the senior delegation, thanked local leaders for a warm welcome. He said that the first trip after 10 years of friendship will open up for activities of cultural exchanges. He also believed that the mutual relationship will be more for the time to come, especially in the fields of economics, international education and healthcare.

* In the morning of the same date of November 2, the senior delegation of Daejeon City had a working session with Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee where Tran Van Nam, the Secretary cum Provincial People’s Committee Chair, Tran Thanh Liem, the Deputy Secretary cum permanent Deputy Chair of Provincial People’s Committee and representatives of related departments, sectors, and units resided.

Kwon Sun Taik, the Major of Daejeon City, highly appreciated the good relationship of Binh Duong Province and Daejeon City in 10 years as well as the development of Binh Duong Province as today. At the working session, he proposed 3 major matters that the two parties should consider to promote for the time to come, such are economic exchanges, cooperation of international education and healthcare. He disclosed that the city, after this delegation visit, will have activities to promote more relation development by boosting specific programs and projects in fields of economics, education, and healthcare.

Mr. Tran Van Nam, the Secretary of Provincial Party Committee cum Chair of People’s Committee affirmed the good relationship evidenced by 10-year legacy while expressing his delight for the ideas of cooperation promotion that the major and members of senior leadership of Daejeon City have proposed.

He disclosed that the major targets projected were to make Binh Duong Province a modern and civilized city of sentimental attachments before 2020; and he wished for learning from experience and good lesson of Daejeon City in the process of development and construction. He also hoped that the good relationship will robustly contribute to the elevation of Vietnamese – Korean relationship strategic height.

At the working session, the two city leadership signed their cooperation deal on boosting friendly cooperation.

* In the afternoon of the same day on November 2, the senior delegation of Daejeon City led by Kwon Sun Taik, the Major and Kim In Sik, the City Council Chair had a visit to Becamex IDC. Receiving and working with the delegation were Nguyen Van Hung, member of Standing Board of Provincial Party Committee and General Director of Becamex IDC and leaders of member units.

At the working session, leader of Daejeon and Becamex IDC had the talks on matters of concerns to promote cooperation for the time to come. On behalf of Becamex IDC, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung introduced briefly of the development and investment fields that Becamex IDC is implementing in the province including prominent industrial, traffic, education, and medical infrastructure. Mr. Kwon Sun Taik informed that, it took 40 years of efforts to build up a city of science and technology out of Daejeon City. Thus, during the development process of Binh Duong Province, Daejeon City would be available for support. He also informed that he will be working with investors from Daejeon after the trip to promote investments into Binh Duong Province.

After the working session with Becamex IDC, the senior delegation visited Kumho Corporation and projects of developing industrial and urban zones, Binh Duong New City and attended the intimate party with provincial leaders in the same evening.

* Within the visit, the delegation had visited Lucky Square Center for Conference and Event where the workshop on introduction of health service tourism of Daejeon City in an event celebrating 10 years of friendly relationship of Binh Duong Province and Daejeon City. At the workshop, the leading hospitals of Daejeon City introduced high quality health services with modern equipment and devoted medicine doctors to offer resting and health caring services in trips of visitors from Binh Duong Province. Currently, 9 major hospitals in Daejeon City with over 2,000 medical facilities and about 9,000 staffs are in service, namely Gyeon Yang Hospital, Ulchi Hospital, Kimbell Dermatology Hospital, Sun Medical Center, Chungnam University Hospital, etc.

Addressing the workshop, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem stressed on great results gained by the cooperation of the two localities and he wished that more support would be offered by Daejeon City for th time to come.
