“Skylines with flying people” project launched

Update: 06-12-2012 | 00:00:00

From December 4, 2012 to January 6, 2013, the artists will work collectively towards their primary goal for the project: to explore alternative methods of art-creation and team-working.

A number of projects will run simultaneously, ranging from renovation of space, open-studios, exhibitions, and performances to talk shows and documentation of the various projects.

One of the highlights of the event is the open-studio project-an exhibition format used widely internationally but rarely practiced in Vietnam.

Around 10 participating artists stay and work in their own purpose-built studio space to present archives of their past work along with new works in progress.

Art fans then have the opportunity to meet with each artist and learn more about their creative inspiration, techniques and challenges.

Tsuneo Noda, a renowned architect from Japan who has renovated several old buildings into sustainable collective studios for a wide range of creators in Japan, will refurbish existing rooms and innovate structures within the Japan Foundation. In collaboration with the other participating artists, Noda hopes to realise their ideal working environment, in turn providing inspiration for their own works.
