Bach Dang commune is about 25km away from Thu Dau Mot city. Crossing Bach Dang Bridge across the Dong Nai River, we stepped out of a bustling industrial society to return to a peaceful and quiet village of Bach Dang commune.
Vo Thi Bao Xuyen, Chairwoman of Bach Dang Commune People's Committee, said that currently the criteria for building a "Smart Village" in Bach Dang commune focus on the specialty pomelos, a long-standing brand of Bach Dang commune, combine with smart solutions to improve agriculture, develop agriculture-based tourism, namely farm tourism.
Besides, the commune implemented a group of solutions to improve infrastructure for agriculture and tourism, build public utilities for tourism, and promote tourism products and services for the comprehensive development of Bach Dang Island.
The town's People's Committee has allocated funds to install security cameras at 30 points with 39 camera eyes and 35 public Wi-Fi points. Located on an island surrounded by Dong Nai River, Bach Dang commune is one of few communes of Binh Duong that is less affected by industry, has no factories, no chimneys and no industrial wastewater.

Duong Van Minh and his pomelo garden in Dieu Hoa hamlet, one of local old farmers with great experience in growing pomelo tree.
