Perhaps never before have businesses faced a "storm" as devasting as the Covid-19 pandemic. However, by bravery and responsibility, entrepreneurs in Binh Duong are still trying to steer their businesses to overcome difficulties and challenges towards new opportunities.

The spread of positive energy

In recent years, Binh Duong business community has grown rapidly in both quantity and quality with increasingly diversified structure, scale, and field of activity changing in line with the province's economic restructuring. The business community has made important contributions to maintain a high and stable growth rate of the economy and actively contributing to job creation, poverty reduction and the implementation of other social policies. The business team of the province has matured and grown in all aspects, affirming its great role in the process of socio-economic development and international integration.

From the beginning of 2020 and especially from June 2021 when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out in the province, businesses have tried to maintain production, business and jobs for employees while joining hands together with the province in the fight against Covid-19 epidemic. With the spirit of joining hands for the community, businesses in the province have supported great human resources for the province's Covid-19 prevention and control. Among them is Becamex IDC, one of the enterprises that has responded very positively to the Covid-19 prevention and control of the province in particular and the country in general. Becamex IDC has also supported the establishment and operation of modern, large-scale field hospitals. In the distance, Becamex IDC still regularly exchanges and organizes many seminars and conferences with foreign investors via online platforms to timely grasp the necessary information to best support investors regarding their investment and workers.

From the beginning of the year to September 15, 2021, Binh Duong has attracted 3,789 new business registrations with a total capital of VND 28,294. Up to now, the province has 52,435 domestic enterprises with a total registered capital of VND 506,000 billion.

Showing their social responsibility, thousands of other businesses in the province have also actively participated in the local Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control. Enterprises all put the protection of the health and lives of people and workers first, strongly support from cash to kind, from human strength to property. The epidemic will pass, but the people of Binh Duong will never forget the image of rice ATMs, zero-VND supermarkets, volunteer kitchens, and mobile medical trips everywhere. All of them have the joint effort for the hearts of responsible businessmen and with gratitude to Binh Duong.

Overcoming challenges and confronting opportunities

It can be said that the province's entrepreneurs have never experienced so many storms and harsh challenges as in 2021. But it can be seen that, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, the province's business team is always able to show responsibility, solidarity, and always be the leading force on the economic front with joint hands to fight the Covid-19 epidemic and contribute mainly to budget revenue as well as create jobs and income for employees.

However, the Covid-19 epidemic is having a heavy impact on a large scale as many units have reduced production and business activities when facing many risks in the market. In that context, many entrepreneurs still stand firm and actively maintain their business activities and protect employees. In order not to disrupt the essential food supply to the people as well as to realize the "dual goal", many businesses have implemented "3 on the spot" solution and decided not to close the factory but to flexibly plan and ensure safety all for production. Many companies have organized for employees to stay in the factory even though they know the cost would increase. It is the leadership and bravery and responsibility of the businessman that have contributed to the stability of the province's economy and to the controlling and repelling of the Covid-19 epidemic.

According to the latest survey by the provincial Statistics Office, 87.16% of enterprises were rated the production and business situation in the fourth quarter of 2021 as stable and better than the third quarter. This is a positive sign that the confidence of enterprises is still being consolidated. According to Mr. Ly Ngoc Minh, General Director of Minh Long I Ceramics Company, despite the fluctuations of the 4th epidemic wave, businesses in the province have been promoting solutions to both effectively fight the epidemic and protect the health of their customers and to ensure production and business activities, adapting to new conditions. Mr. Ho Minh Quang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ton Nam Kim Company, said that the more difficult the situation, the more steadfast and resilient they have been. “I personally always think that entrepreneurs are the main team, the core of the economy and we have to join hands with the province to fight the epidemic while persistently continuing to produce so that workers can have income to stabilize their lives and work together to become more attached to enterprises,” said Mr. Quang.

At a recent meeting with businesses, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, said that responding to the pandemic will be one of the biggest challenges for businesses and entrepreneurs in Binh Duong. Above all, the province's entrepreneurs always nurture the desire to get rich and build the nation into a stronger one. In danger, opportunities always reside and businesses are always ready to prepare themselves to integrate into the breath of change in the economy and seize the better opportunities to bring their businesses to new heights.
