Solutions for sustainable agricultural development

Update: 07-11-2024 | 14:16:16

With shrinking agricultural land and challenges from natural resource limitations and climate change, Binh Duong's agriculture sector can no longer rely on low costs and labor-intensive methods. Therefore, the province has rapidly shifted towards high-tech agriculture. As a result, Binh Duong now has 6,450 hectares of agricultural land with hi-tech application, has issued 31 planting area codes, 13 packing facility codes and certified 219 OCOP (One Commune, One Product) products, including 10 products that meet 4-star OCOP standards.

Binh Duong is promoting the development of ecological, organic and circular agriculture, with planting area codes and product traceability. To achieve sustainable agriculture, access to and application of ecological agricultural production models, organic agriculture and circular economic models in agriculture in the province are developing strongly, achieving results. Examples include the use of indigenous microorganisms (IMO), water-saving irrigation systems, circular and closed-loop production models. These models not only improve production efficiency, but also contribute to environmental protection and reduction of agricultural waste. Notably, over 90% of livestock wastewater is treated and reused while solid waste is collected for composting.

Possibly speaking that the application of high technology, the development of ecological agriculture and circular economy practices in agriculture are driving sustainable agricultural development in the province today.
