Provincial leaders present flowers as congratulation to press units in the province

Over the past years, Song Be – Binh Duong newspaper consistently played a pioneering role, making significant contributions to the revolutionary cause and the struggle to protect, build and develop the nation. As a former journalist, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Dang, former Editor-in-Chief of Binh Duong Newspaper expressed his joy at the significant achievements in Binh Duong’s journalism development. Through the work of the modern team of Binh Duong journalists, the dynamic socio-economic reality of the province has been reflected and communicated comprehensively, with rich diversity across various media platforms to the audience in and out of the province and abroad. Local development programs and projects have been widely publicized, helping the public gain understanding, share concern, engage and contribute to their implementation. Both domestic and foreign investors continue coming to Binh Duong with enthusiasm, confidence and peace of mind as the media has provided them with in-depth information about investment projects, especially about the land and people of Binh Duong.

“Moreover, in recent years, Binh Duong’s press has played a significant role in shaping, portraying, interpreting the province’s development model and its path of progress over the past quarter-century. It is the media that has introduced to the public distinctive characteristics, unique experiences and vivid, timely lessons drawn from Binh Duong’s real-life practices…These are the dedicated efforts and vivid achievements of modern Binh Duong journalism”, emphasized Dr. Huynh Ngoc Dang.

Accompanying local development

Speaking at the ceremony on behalf of provincial leaders, Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of provincial People’s Council, acknowledged, highly appreciated and respected the quiet-but- meaningful contributions of the province’s journalists.

Outstanding individuals with great contributions to journalism honored

He affirmed that Binh Duong’s press has always stood alongside all social classes and the business community, thereby contributing to the successful implementation of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, building an increasingly clean and strong Party, government and political system.

On this occasion, the Organization  Committee honored 47 outstanding individuals. The Vietnam Journalists’ Association awarded the “For the Cause of Vietnamese Journalism” mementoes to 18 individuals. Provincial People’s Committee Chairman awarded the certificates of merit to 160 collectives and individuals with excellent achievements. The 10th provincial Nguyen Van Tiet Press Awards 2025 also honored 64 outstanding journalistic works in 5 categories of general and specialized journalism.

Binh Duong today—and in the future, after merging with Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria - Vung Tau to become a modern super-metropolitan area with dynamic socio-economic growth and a convergence of businesses, professionals and workers from many regions and countries—will place immense demands on communication and journalism. The press must not only promptly and accurately reflect the guidelines and policies of the Party, the State, local authorities, but also become an active force accompanying the process of renewing the growth model, improving the investment environment and building a digital government, digital society, digital economy and digital citizenry.

Particularly, the press must take the lead in propagating the construction of a clean and strong Party and political system; fostering social consensus; helping strengthen public trust in the Party’s leadership and the government’s administration. The merger is a complex process requiring thorough preparation in all aspects—from mechanisms, policies and planning to the consensus and involvement of citizens and businesses. In this process, the role of journalism is extremely important and decisive.

Mr. Loc requested press agencies and journalists in the province to focus on extensive, synchronized and consistent communication regarding the merger policy, the roadmap for implementing the two-tier local government model and the results achieved in each phase. Additionally, the press should positively and objectively guide public opinion; reflect the legitimate thoughts, aspirations of the people and enhance social monitoring and criticism.

On the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day, on behalf of provincial leaders, Mr. Loc extended warm congratulations and deep gratitude to all leaders, staff, reporters, editors, technicians, collaborators working in journalism and communications and all those who have been and are devoted to the cause of journalism.
