Special emulation campaign launched to set up achievements in celebration of 11th provincial Women’s Congress and 13th national Women’s Congress

On October 19, provincial Women's Union launched a special emulation campaign to welcome the 13th national Women’s Congress and provincial Women's Congresses at all levels and celebrate the 91st founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2021).

The ceremony was held online at VNPT Binh Duong, in attendance of Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee together with representatives of departments, sectors, outstanding officials and members.

At the event, delegates commemorated female cadres, members and people throughout the country who unfortunately died, due to Covid-19 pandemic. Accordingly, 2021 is an unforgettable year for people across the country in general and Binh Duong province in particular in the face of the complicated developments of Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic has had many impacts, seriously affecting production-business activities, health and life of people, especially vulnerable women and children. According to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Association, there are 356 Women’s Union officials at all levels with Covid-19 pandemic in 18 provinces and cities, 33 of whom have not survived. In Binh Duong province alone, there are 83 members infected with Covid-19 and 3 sisters have died. At the event, leaders of provincial Women's Union expressed their sympathy and deep sharing to all-level Women’s Unions, officials, members, women across the province that have been going through this very difficult time.

Over the past few months, despite facing many difficulties, due to Covid-19 pandemic, official and members of Women’s Unions at all levels have also shown their strength to affirm their position and role, being determinate to emulate, striving to overcome difficulties, well completing their assigned tasks. Binh Duong’s women have joined hands with the generations of Vietnamese women across the country and Women’s Unions at all levels to strive for the highest achievements to celebrate the 91st founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women's Union.

Further carrying out meaningful deeds

On behalf of women in 9 districts, towns and cities across the province,  Nguyen Thi Tuyet Nga, Chairwoman of Thu Dau Mot  city’s Women's Union promised to try to complete significant works and deeds to welcome provincial Women's Union Congress for the 2021-2026 tenure while focusing on accompanying disadvantaged women and children, helping them overcome difficulties from the pandemic at the event.

 

One of the impressive contents at the launching ceremony on October 19 was to recommend 3 women to the contest of "Start-up women raise the brand name of OCOP products". Provincial Women's Union has also sent 11 projects to the contest and there are 3 women being very active with their projects. The sisters have been selected by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union to enter the regional competition round. They are Pham Thi Huong in Bau Bang district’s Lai Uyen town with the model of nursing rubber tree seedlings; Tran Thi Trung Hieu in Thuan An city’s An Thanh ward with the model of grocery store; Tran Thi Ngoc Phuong in Di An city’s Tan Dong Hiep ward with the project of designing and producing handmade toys for pupils at kindergartens.

At the event, the organizers also awarded 50 scholarships to students with high academic achievements; gave 60 gifts for outstanding officials in Covid-19 prevention and control; offered 50 gifts to members of provincial Association for the Blind.

Regarding the meaning of this campaign, Truong Thanh Nga, Chairwoman of provincial Women's Union said that the event was held directly in combination with online form during the period to mark the 91st anniversary of the Vietnam Women's Union, the 11th  anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day in order to further raise awareness and responsibility of officials, members, women from all walks of life and the whole society about their role and position, the important contributions of all-level Women’s Unions, cadres and  members to the development of the country. The event also aimed at encouraging cadres and members to actively participate in emulation movements, contributing to successfully implementing key tasks for 2021.

The special emulation campaign with the theme of "110 typical deeds" to practically celebrate the 11th provincial Women's Congress was widely launched to all-level Women’s Unions, officials, members, women across the province with creative, concrete form and contents. The emulation campaign will end on January 10, 2022. Each district, town, city and affiliated units will guide the local Women’s Union branches to introduce at least 1 outstanding work of the collective and 1 outstanding work of the individual to provincial Women’s Union Executive Board. There will be 110 outstanding works selected and honored by provincial Women’s Union. After that, 11 best works will be sorted out for the central-level emulation campaign. The evaluation and summary of this provincial-level emulation campaign will be held on the occasion of the 1982nd anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising and the 112th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8). The content of the emulation campaign focuses on implementing the call of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the Prime Minister on Covid-19 prevention and control. Especially, the emulation campaign will attach special attention to ensuring social welfare, offering help to women and children affected by Covid-19 pandemic and consequences of natural disasters.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Loc acknowledged contributions by Women's Unions at all levels in Covid-19 prevention and control, especially over the past 4 months. Members and women excelled at taking care of frontline forces, supporting people in medical quarantine and blockage areas. According to him, the role of the Women's Unions in communes and wards is very important in taking care of frontline anti-Covid-19 forces and people facing difficulties, due to Covid-19 pandemic. He also hoped that officials and members of the local Women’s Unions at all levels will continue striving, emulating to set up achievements in celebration of  the 11th provincial Women's Congress, thereby appearing more exemplary examples. “Currently, Binh Duong has 216 children orphaned by Covid-19 pandemic. Among them, there are 80 studying in the province. These are the subjects that need special attention and care and the local Women's Unions at all levels need to help them to continue their learning. The local Women's Unions at all levels need to further propagandize and mobilize people to implement the "5K" message of the Ministry of Health, strengthen community-based Covid-19 groups and support production and business establishments, install QR codes as a good habit to effectively prevent and control the pandemic in the current situation", he emphasized.
