Early January 8, Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU) coordinated with Sun Edu International Education Joint Stock Company to open a specialized training course on integrated circuit (IC) design for lecturers at province-based universities and colleges. The opening ceremony was attended by Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation; Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee.

The intensive training course lasts 4 months, from January 8 to May 8, 2024. During the training course, students will receive guidance and practical support from Sun Edu's experienced experts. The training course will focus on instructing and training Physical Design techniques on Synopsys' famous IC2 IC design software, creating opportunities for lecturers to master and apply modern knowledge in the teaching and research process.
Earlier, TDMU and Sun Edu International Education Joint Stock Company signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoU). This training course is the first coordinated activity of the two units after signing the MoU.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ha expressed his belief that the lecturers participating in this course will become a high-quality core force to continue training and developing the province's human resources for the field of semiconductor chips while promoting the development of the semiconductor chip ecosystem and creating new motivation and attraction to increase the attraction of high-tech investment in Binh Duong province and the region.
He also proposed TDMU to further research and deploy specialized training courses in other technology fields related to industry 4.0. Provincial departments and sectors need to support universities and colleges in implementing contents to improve the quality of semiconductor IC human resource training, contributing to the goal of becoming a modern industrial hub of the whole country by 2030.
On this occasion, TDMU announced and handed over decisions appointing associate professor positions to 7 lecturers of the school. Provincial leaders awarded each associate professor VND 50 million to recognize their efforts.
