Localities have also actively surveyed and selected locations to upgrade regional clinics into places to treat and care for Covid-19 patients.

Urgent establishment

According to the direction of provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, localities choose locations to establish Covid-19 treatment areas in the spirit of thrift. They need to take advantage of available conditions and facilities to repair and upgrade at requirements of becoming Covid-19 treatment areas.

The treatment area for Covid-19 patients in Ben Cat town is arranged separately at the local Health Center’s Department of Traditional Medicine

In Thuan An city, construction force is still urgently speeding up the progress of repairing and upgrading An Phu General Clinic in An Phu ward with a toal area of about 5,000 square meters into a Covid-19 treatment area. Huynh Thi Thanh Phuong, Secretary of Thuan An city’s Party Committee, Head of the city’s Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control said that with the “4 on-site” spirit, survey sites selected for the establishment of Covid-19 treatment areas reaching the highest standards are in the most densely populated areas. Establishing Covid-19 treatment areas here will be convenient in receiving and treating Covid-19 patients, including being ready to provide additional support for neighboring areas in Di An city and Tan Uyen town.

Similarly, after being approved by the province, Di An city has also embarked on repairing and upgrading An Binh General Clinic in An Binh ward to become a Covid-19 treatment area. Pham Van Bay, Vice-Chairman of Di An city’s People's Committee said that the locality has handed over 39 concentrated isolation areas while establishing 17 mobile medical stations to bring healthcare closer to people and enterprises. After completing the repair of the Covid-19 treatment area in An Binh ward, along with the operation of the city’s Medical Center and the coordination between mobile medical stations, the city will own a medical network that can meet the local demand for treatment and care for Covid-19 patients. The province’s remaining localities have also quickly surveyed and selected locations to renovate and upgrade into places to treat and care for Covid-19 patients. The treatment areas will be deployed to build a synchronous central oxygen system connecting to hospital beds. The ways in and out of the treatment areas together with medical waste houses; oxygen tanks; staff accommodations…will be also upgraded…

Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee said that the province has a policy of bringing healthcare closer to people by establishing mobile medical stations while directing districts, towns and cities to set up Covid-19 patient treatment areas. “The province has surveyed and instructed localities to take advantage of regional clinics to repair and upgrade into Covid-19 treatment areas to ensure treatment requirements for patients with Covid-19 and other infectious diseases, thereby reducing the risk of infection, ensuring psychological stability for Covid-19 patients. Localities have been very active and have basically prepared the sites for the establishment of Covid-19 treatment area; gradually narrowed concentrated isolation areas…" said Mr. Dung.

Also according to him, returning to the "new normal" state under the motto of "safely, flexibly and effectively control and adapt to Covid-19 pandemic", the province is eliminating concentrated isolation areas and dissolving field hospitals in the coming time while separating treatment of Covid-19 patients as a treatment specialty for infectious diseases.

Good control of Covid-19 pandemic

Talking to reporters, Assoc. Prof. - Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu, Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital, Director of Binh Duong Emergency Resuscitation Field Hospital said that safe, flexible adaptation to and effective control of COVID-19 require response solutions when detecting infections in the community. Accordingly, the principles of dealing with people infected with Covid-19 must be suitable to conditions of collection and treatment in each place; ensure living conditions and aspirations of infected people. Localities should soon classify patients without symptoms or with mild symptoms or got vaccinated, and prioritize home isolation and treatment for them. For F0 cases with new severe symptoms, they need to be hospitalized.

According to Assoc.Prof. - Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu, Covid-19 pandemic in Binh Duong has passed its peak when the number of infections has dropped. The province has made appropriate decisions in the new situation when closing large-scale isolation areas, building professional Covid-19 treatment areas in districts, towns and cities, and especially building up a grassroots healthcare system, bringing medical stations into industrial parks, strengthening mobile medical groups closely associated with local medical centers.

“I completely believe that with such preparation, Binh Duong can expand activities for people to live and work normally while needing to try to put the pandemic under control in accordance with the motto of science, efficiency and economization. In the field of epidemiology, the province continues its plan to control large outbreaks in the community for small-scale localization, not taking people there to isolation areas, but implementing support policies instead. The province needs to improve the quality of treatment for Covid-19 patients as well as improving its scientific and technical capacity in medicine to reduce severe cases and deaths", Assoc. Prof. - Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu said.

It is known that the Hanoi Medical University Hospital is organizing a training course on emergency resuscitation for doctors and nurses in the province, contributing to improving the treatment capacity for Covid-19 patients, minimizing severe cases, deaths in the coming time.

Mai Hung Dung said that along with investing and upgrading the establishment of Covid-19 treatment areas, the province is also paying great attention to recruiting, training as well as giving professional training for medical staff, doctors and nurses ... at human resources to serve the care and treatment of Covid-19 patients in the coming time.
