Spreading the practice of studying and following Uncle Ho among workers

Tuesday, 27/05/2025

In recent years, studying and applying Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style has become common across various enterprises. As a result, union members and workers at grassroots unions have developed numerous positive programs and initiatives. These efforts have helped create a friendly, civilized, and competitive working environment, leading to thousands of initiatives that have generated billions of profits for businesses.

Create a friendly and humane working environment

Beginning with initiatives such as the "Finding Lost Items and Returning Them to Their Owners" program, over 1,000 employees at Compass II Company Limited (VSIP 1) have become more aware of office and corporate culture. This has fostered a model of promoting good behavior and positive deeds among staff.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, Chairman of the company's grassroots trade union, shared that in previous years, due to the large number of seasonal workers, the working environment was sometimes disorganized. As a result, the grassroots trade union is promoting the practice of learning from Uncle Ho, starting with simple actions for union members and workers. One initiative is the model of "Finding Lost Items and Returning Them to Their Owners."

“When we were established, we balanced the union's financial resources and requested an additional 2% of the company's basic salary per employee to create an operating and reward fund. Every quarter, the grassroots trade union summarizes achievements and awards amounts ranging from 300,000 VND to 2 million VND per instance for those who demonstrate commendable actions and receive certificates of merit,” Mr. Phuong explained. This model has now spread, raising awareness of corporate culture.

Ms. Ong Thuy Hoang Mai, Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation, noted, “Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style has always been widely implemented by trade unions at all levels across the province. Thanks to effective propaganda, the movement of 'good workers, creative workers' has permeated every workshop and factory, inspiring workers to demonstrate their abilities and contribute their talents. Numerous initiatives and technical improvements from direct workers have led to increased productivity, cost savings, enhanced safety, and improved production efficiency.

By promoting the principles of learning and following Uncle Ho in small ways, many other companies such as Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd., Italy Asia Door Industry Co., Ltd., and Phong Thai Rubber Co., Ltd. have developed their own meaningful programs aimed at cultivating a civilized corporate culture and better caring for the lives of union members and workers.

At Phong Thai Rubber Company Limited, the grassroots trade union actively listens to employee feedback on various issues. This collaboration allows the business owner to implement beneficial actions for employees, such as providing convenient parking for pregnant women and those with young children. The company has also built milking and milk storage facilities for female employees with infants and offers sponsorship of 1 million VND/month to single mothers facing financial difficulties. Additionally, the company organizes health check-ups for all employees every six months.

Each year, the company collects information from employees with young children living far from their parents and encourages them to bring their children back to live with them. The company assists in school applications and provides support to ensure the children have the resources they need for their education.

Ms. Dinh Thi Huong, Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union at Phong Thai Rubber Company Limited, stated, “Studying and following Uncle Ho is implemented within our company for each union member and worker in production, encouraging participation in the movement initiated by the grassroots trade union. Trade union officials must lead the way, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of workers to deepen the effectiveness of this movement.”

Promoting innovation, making billions in profit

In addition to implementing models for building corporate culture, creating engaging work environments, and enhancing workers' livelihoods through practical activities, trade unions promote initiatives and creativity in production among all union members and workers. Numerous examples of advanced labor practices featuring innovative solutions have significantly increased economic efficiency, benefiting companies to the tune of billions of dong. This also highlights the capability and intelligence of union members and workers in the realms of integration and development. In 2024 alone, the province recorded 3,200 worker initiatives, yielding over 400 billion VND in benefits for businesses.

The program of "Finding lost items and returning them to the owner" at Compass II Company Limited contributes to building a civilized and friendly corporate culture.

A typical example is the case of Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Huynh from East West Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd., who initiated the project "Reducing Inspection Samples for Input Materials." This initiative helped the company save 2.52 billion VND. Prior to this improvement, the company used the same level of inspection for all incoming raw materials, regardless of whether the materials were simple or complex, resulting in an excessive number of samples. After implementing the changes, the number of material codes subjected to inspection was reduced by 22.5% of the total number of imported material codes. This reduction in inspection samples significantly saved time and helped decrease labor costs.

Another noteworthy project is "Reducing Labor Costs of Gum Packaging Machine Components," led by Mr. Trinh Hoai An at Tombow Vietnam Co., Ltd., which resulted in savings of nearly 1 billion VND per year. Mr. An observed that the Sleeve suction belt of the packaging machine, sourced from Japan, utilized canvas rope for connections. However, after about three months of use, the fabric cord would stretch, leading to structural failure and rendering the component unusable. Mr. An's initiative involved processing the Sleeve suction belt in Vietnam using zinc wire for connections, which increased its durability.

Inspired by Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, union members and workers in the province have continuously strived to enhance labor productivity, ultimately contributing to a more stable life for themselves and their families.
