Starting the construction of My Phuoc - Bau Bang route

Morning Oct 20th, at My Phuoc 1 industrial park (Ben Cat town), Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held the groundbreaking ceremony of My Phuoc - Bau Bang route. Tran Van Nam, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Huynh Thanh Long, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Council; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, attended the ceremony.

An important traffic route

The project of My Phuoc - Bau Bang route as a total investment of VND1,500 billion, including VND967 billion for construction costs funded by Becamex IDC, who is also the contractor. The rest funded by provincial state budget is for land clearance, compensation performed by localities.

The construction of My Phuoc - Bau Bang route will contribute to the socio-economic development of Binh Duong in the future.

According to Nguyen Van Hoang, Deputy CEO of Becamex IDC, this is an important traffic route to expand the connection between Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc and HCM City, regional provinces; form a new urban face, accelerating the development of Ben Cat town and Bau Bang district. My Phuoc - Tan Van route and My Phuoc - Bau Bang route will link Bau Bang district with Highway 1A and traffic system of the whole southern key economic zone. The project will satisfy people and business’s needs for transportation to airports, seaports, thereby increasing the competitiveness of provincial products.

According to Mr. Hoang, with many experiences, professional engineers, available resources, Becamex IDC will complete the project on time and meeting required standards.

To ensure the project completion on schedule

Nguyen Huu Chi, Secretary of Bau Bang district Party Committee, said the My Phuoc - Bau Bang route would affect about 100 households in Bau Bang and Ben Cat with a recovery area of ​​about 100 hectares. This route is a long-standing dream of local people and government. In several years later, industrial parks in Binh Phuoc will be put into operation; traffic flow will be thicker. Thus the locality will need an appropriate solution. The project will also shorten 30% the distance, helping in saving time and costs of investors. The locality will coordinate closely with Becamex IDC in propaganda and support land clearance.

Mr. Chi said, Bau Bang district has done land clearance and compensation, resettlement for many households. After examination, living standards of households at new places are higher than before resettlement.

Speaking at the ceremony, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, stressed that My Phuoc - Bau Bang route had an important role in investment attraction of Ben Cat town and Bau Bang district; and contributed to bring Binh Duong province to a city directly under the Central by 2020. The road was constructed in accordance with the planning, will become a parallel route to Highway 13 leading to Cambodia border and crossing Ho Chi Minh road, Bau Bang, My Phuoc - Tan Van, then deep water ports in HCM City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Long Thanh international airport with the shortest and most convenient distance.

Mr. Liem asserted this project was very important. PPC asked all sectors, levels to coordinate closely to fulfill soon land clearance, resettlement, relocation of infrastructure. The contractor must ensure the project’s conformity with design standards, environmentally friendly, labour safety.

My Phuoc - Bau Bang route has a length of 10,9km crossing Ben Cat town (4.1 km) and Bau Bang district (6.8km). The road was designed based on urban road standards, has speed of 80km/h, cross-section of 61m, 10 lanes and adequate infrastructure. The project is an architectural highlight in urban - industrial development, a linkage between northern and southern urban - industrial zones. The project will also connect routes from Cambodia border, Ho Chi Minh road, Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc), Binh Duong to deep water ports in HCM City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Long Thanh international airport.
