After nearly 40 years of implementing the Party's renewal policy, along with the whole country, Binh Duong province has achieved many important achievements in socio-economic development. The role, position and potential of the province have been enhanced increasingly. The lives of people have been improved constantly. That is a solid foundation for the province to continue implementing strategic breakthroughs based on the Central orientation towards the goal of building Binh Duong province into a modern, smart, civilized and prosperous city.

The government paving the way

From a purely agricultural province with a low starting point, but thanks to flexibly applying the Party's renewal policies and guidelines to the local specific situation, constantly striving to create and tap new potential and advantages, generations of leaders of Binh Duong province have inherited the development achievements of Song Be province, focusing on leading the political system and people from all strata to implement a desire on build up Binh Duong with rapid, sustainable development, civilization and prosperity.

After more than a quarter of a century of efforts, Binh Duong province has truly become a model of breakthrough development

Speaking at the conference on "Development model of Binh Duong province in the process of national innovation" organized by the Central Theoretical Council and provincial Party Committee at the end of 2023, Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee emphasized that after 26 years of construction and development, Binh Duong has had many outstanding policies and solutions on socio-economic development, from activating investment to making economic restructuring, consolidating and developing State-owned enterprises to play a leading role in investing, building industrial parks and making breakthroughs in infrastructure development, unleashing domestic and international human resources, promoting industrial, urban and service development in a civilized and modern direction to solve social problems...

It can be affirmed that after more than a quarter of a century, Binh Duong province has truly become a model of breakthrough development. According to Prof.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, outstanding efforts to rise up is a great motivation and source of inspiration, arousing pride and desire for development in every Binh Duong person and in the people of the whole country regarding breakthrough thinking, unique models and creative ways of the province in the process of promoting the renewal process comprehensively and synchronously.

The achievements done by Binh Duong province for more than a quarter of a century are vivid manifestations of the realization of the national renewal policy initiated and led by our Party. The path to prosperity became even wider when the Politburo issued the Resolution No.24 on the Southeastern region’s socio-economic development in early October 2022. And, at the national conference on October 23, 2022 on thoroughly grasping and implementing the Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW, the Politburo emphasized the need for strong, dynamic, creative and innovative innovation, with breakthrough in building and developing the Southeastern region in general and provinces and cities in the region in particular so that by 2030, the Southeastern region will become a dynamic development region with high economic growth, the country's largest growth driver; a center of science - technology and innovation, high-tech industry, logistics and a highly competitive international financial center in the region; take the lead in innovating growth models, digital transformation, building digital government, digital economy and digital society; rapidly develop a smart and modern urban system; basically complete a traffic system with intra-regional, inter-regional and regional connection; become a focal point for trade and integration in the region and the world".

Binh Duong going on

The Politburo’s Resolution 24-NQ/TW identifies that Binh Duong province belongs to two extremely developed sub-regions. Particularly, the southern region of the province with Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An, Di An cities belongs to the central sub-region as the development center of the Southeastern region. The northern region of the province with Dau Tieng, Bau Bang, Phu Giao districts belongs to the northern sub-region with the role of the zone for border gate economic development, logistics, expanding industrial development space for the region; developing the agricultural and forestry product processing industry, growing industrial crops, playing an important role in protecting water sources, forest ecosystems and biodiversity...

To implement the orientations, goals and tasks in the Resolution No.24, Binh Duong province has focused on directing and deeply grasping the awareness, role and responsibility of the entire political system and all-level authorities and sectors in the province and specified in provincial Party Committee’s Program No. 113-CTr/TU dated March 22, 2023 on implementing the Resolution No. 24 NQ/TW on socio-economic development and assurance of national defense and security in the Southeastern region until 2030, with a vision to 2045. The province clearly defines general and specific goals until 2030, with a vision to 2045. Accordingly, by 2030, Binh Duong will basically become a smart city, meeting the criteria of becoming a first-class city under the central management, being a modern, worth-living and civilized city with sentimental attachment; basically complete the local traffic system with intra-regional and inter-regional connection, becoming a focal point for trade and integration in the region and the world; fundamentally innovate the growth model, increase the proportion of the service sector, especially develop high-quality services towards becoming financial, commercial, educational and healthcare centers with regional and world-class levels.

Along with that, Binh Duong has promoted the development of new generation industry, forming up specialized industrial parks, science and technology industrial parks, green industry, circular industry and industry 4.0, creating a industrial belt; built digital government, digital society, digital economy, strongly reforming administrative procedures. Binh Duong is now among the country’s leading localities in the fields of culture, society, education - training, and health development. Over the past time, national defense - security and politics were firmly guaranteed, with the Party organization and political system being clean and strong. The average growth was about 9% - 10%/year, with GRDP per capita reaching between US$15,000 – US$16,000. The digital economy contributed 30% - 35% to the local GRDP value.

With a vision to 2045, Binh Duong strives to become a locality with modern economic structure; is an important part of the center of science, technology and innovation, high-tech industry, logistics and one of the financial centers of the region, with a modern and synchronous infrastructure system…

With the local conditions, Binh Duong province’s draft planning for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 orients the local spatial organization to develop into an innovation region, including 1 development axis, 2 ecological corridors, 3 linked belts, 4 development zones. Particularly, development along the North-South axis, taking the axis of National Highway 13, Bau Bang - My Phuoc - Tan Van expressway, Ho Chi Minh city - Chon Thanh expressway, Di An - Loc Ninh railway, Suoi Tien - Bau Bang urban railway…as a connecting axis, developing the urban - industry - service axis in each segment...
