Strives to reach 94.11% of health insurance participation nationwide in 2024

On January 17, Vietnam Social Insurance held a national video conference to announce social insurance and health insurance tasks in 2024. Attending the conference at Hanoi endpoint were Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai and representatives of relevant ministries, departments and branches. In Binh Duong, leaders of provincial departments and agencies took part in the online conference.

In 2023, the rate of people joining social insurance in the country reached about 39.25% compared to the labor force of 18.26 million people (achieving the target set by Resolution No. 01/NQ -CP of the Government). The rate of people participating in unemployment insurance (UI) reached nearly 31.6% of the labor force with 14.7 million people. The health insurance coverage rate reached 93.35%, with over 93.3 million participants. In 2024, Vietnam Social Insurance sets a target of about 42.7% of the labor force in the specified age groups participating in social insurance; the rate of labor force participating in unemployment insurance to reach 34.18%; health insurance participation rate to reach 94.11%...

as implementing Project 06, up to now, Binh Duong Provincial Social Insurance Department has connected and authenticated the specialized database with the national population database for more than 1.9 million people joining social insurance and health insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance (reaching a rate of 95%). This creates a foundation for reforming and connecting administrative procedures, reducing paperwork, making people joining social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance conveniently when carrying out related administrative procedures. Up to now, Provincial Social Insurance has applied 100% online public services to handle unemployment benefits on the National Public Service Portal.
