Giving love
Provincial authorites, sectors and mass organization at all levels are focusing on supporting people with difficulties, contributing to taking care of them, giving them more motivation and confidence to rise up in life. With the meaning, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels are implementing the Humanitarian Month 2024 with many community-oriented activities, spreading compassionate behavior among people from all strata.

Ngo Thi Xuyen, Chairwoman of Dau Tieng district’s Red Cross Society said that the society has recently organized a program to respond to the Humanitarian Month 2024 with the theme of "Humanitarian journey - Giving and receiving love". In this program, the district’s Red Cross Society supported 150 local people with difficult circumstances to go to the "Zero-dong” market with a total value of VND 150 million. Along with that, the society also mobilized organizations and individuals to award 50 scholarships worth VND1 million each; presented 10 bicycles and gifts to poor students with a total value of VND 60 million.
Bui Thanh Hai in Dau Tieng town’s quarter 5 in Dau Tieng district has an extremely difficult circumstance. Receiving the ticket to go to the "zero-dong” market supported by the district’s Red Cross Society, Mr. Hai was very happy. He shared: "Receiving this gift and using it slowly will probably last many days. For many months, I have relied on support from the community because I have not been able to work. In this difficult time, if anyone can give me any support, I would just like to thank them for that. I don't want anything more because there are still many difficult situations that also need support."
Giving more motivation
As a "bridge" in humanitarian and social charity activities, bringing joy to those still full of difficulties, over the past time, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels carried out many meaningful activities and received active support from agencies, units, organizations and individuals. Espencially, during the annual Humanitarian Month, humanitarian activities are organized regularly and extensively from provincial to grassroots levels, contributing to bringing livelihoods, confidence, strength... to many individuals and families, multiplying meaningful deeds in the community.
Dau Tieng district’s Red Cross Society donates bicycles to the local disadvantaged people
Vo Thi Tuyet Nhung, Chairwoman of Dong Hoa ward’s Red Cross Society in Di An city said that in addition to activities of giving gifts for people with difficulties, during this year's Humanitarian Month, livelihood support activities will be organized by the society. Accordingly, depending on each person's working conditions, the ward’s Red Cross Society will mobilize funds to give corresponding livelihood to 7 subjects, so they can have more working conditions. Each livelihood is worth VND 5million-10 million. In addition to livelihood support, during this year's Humanitarian Month, the ward’s Red Cross Society also mobilized funds to donate 15 health insurance cards and organized a "zero-dong” market" for 100 disadvantaged people. In addition, the ward’s Red Cross Society mobilized funeral support of VND 46.2 million for 2 cases with extremely difficult circumstances.
Nguyen Thi Phuong, Chairwoman of Tan Uyen city’s Red Cross Society said that over the past days, the city’s Red Cross Society and its branches organized many humanitarian activities, including giving gifts, providing free medical examination for disadvantaged people, donating fresh water to people affected by drought and saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta region...Particularly, the city’s Red Cross Society will organize activities responding to the Humanitarian Month on May 9, 2024. It is expected that in this program, the city’s Red Cross Society will award 50 scholarships to poor-but-excellent students and those with difficult circumstances at the risk of dropping out of school in the 2023-2024 school year. Along with that, the society also mobilizes members of clubs and volunteer branches under the society, organizations and donors in and out of the city, to support resources in organizing the "Zero-dong” market" for 200 people with difficult circumstances, the disabled, workers at lodging facilities, freelancers, security guards, housekeepers with difficult circumstances...
“The activities of giving and receiving love during the Humanitarian Month in Tan Uyen city are still taking place and will last until the end of May 2024. Through these practical activities, we hope to provide some support to difficult situations, contributing to alleviating injuries and creating a spiritual fulcrum for everyone to have more confidence to rise up in life", Mrs. Phuong shared.
With the practical activities that have been carried out, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels hopes that agencies, organizations, donors in and out of the province and people from all strata will further support and accompany the local Red Cross Societies at all levels in humanitarian activities to help the poor, disadvantaged and vulnerable people effectively, contributing to building up a united, compassionate, progressive and civilized community.
