In the first five months of this year, Nha Trang city in the central Khanh Hoa province received 175,000 Chinese visitors, an increase of 4.8 times compared to the corresponding period last year, according to the provincial department of tourism.
Chinese visitors to Nha Trang accounted for 40% of the number of international tourists, surpassing those from Russia and taking the lead of those from 10 countries.
In the period, the number of visitors to Nha Trang is estimated to surge 14% to 1.6 million while tourism revenue is predicted to increase by 21% to reach VND2.750 billion.
Tran Son Hai, vice chairman of the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee has directed the provincial department of tourism to take urgent measures to strengthen management of the tourism industry.
