Summary of scientific research project on the Southeast

On July 12, Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU) held a summary of the scientific research project on the Southeast (2014-2022 period).

Since 2014, TDMU has developed a scientific research project on the Mekong Delta. The project conducted research on some contents, including: creating materials for training; contributing to the socio-economic development of the Mekong Delta. The project identified 10 research programs: Socio-economic, education - training, history - culture, environment, urbanization, sea islands, borders, engineering - technology and international integration. After that, TDMU carried out a series of activities, which were integrated with other scientific activities of the school. Over the past 8 years, this scientific research project on the Southeast assessed and accepted 200 researches conducted by lecturers, 393 researches conducted by PhD students, postgraduate students and undergraduate students; organized 158 scientific workshops and hundreds of seminars...; published nearly 70 books; trained 1 PhD, 244 MSc; published more than 1,400 scientific articles in national journals and nearly 500 articles in international journals.    

According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hiep, Chairman of TDMU Council, the university closely followed the development and research strategy to fill the missing scientific contents in 10 identified programs, provided data and scientific arguments for socio-economic development policy-making activities and the issues posed in the Southeast; create materials for teaching and studying; contributing to the provision of highly qualified human resource.
