On the afternoon of May 9, the inspection team from the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) had a working session with the Department of Education and Training on the implementation of policies and the development of the education workforce.
At the survey session, representatives from educational institutions ranging from preschool to high school in the province presented the difficulties and limitations in the past, among which, the greatest challenge of schools today is the lack of human resources and facilities to meet the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program, and the salary and support policies of the teaching staff. Currently, many schools do not have specialized personnel to teach subjects such as music, art, experiential activities, integrated natural sciences, history, and geography. Therefore, teachers have to teach extra hours beyond regulations but there is no support for extra hours. In addition, teacher recruitment work almost never meets the plan, especially in preschool education.
Some other limitations were also mentioned by the delegates and they hoped that the Ministry of Education and Training would remove difficulties so that the team of teachers and school staff could work with peace of mind. The survey team has taken into account the opinions of the schools; at the same time, information on some new draft policies for the education sector's civil servants and employees has been provided. The actual situation survey will be the basis for the delegation to propose effective solutions, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning in the coming time.
