Synchronous solutions against avian flu deployed

Update: 26-10-2022 | 13:10:26

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MoARD) has just sent a telegram on implementing anti-avian flu solutions in a drastic and synchronous way to the Chairpersons of the People's Committees of provinces and cities nationwide.

According to statistics, since early this year, there have been 34 outbreaks of avian influenza in 19 provinces and cities nationwide, forcing the destruction of over 77,000 fowls. The risk of avian influenza pandemic spreading and occurring on a large scale is very high because the total number of poultry flock is large. Small-scale production still accounts for the majority, not yet meeting the requirements of veterinary hygiene and disease safety. Many flocks of poultry have not been vaccinated. In addition, there is a risk of some new strains of avian influenza virus entering Vietnam through transportation, trading and consumption of smuggled poultry and poultry products with unknown origin.

In the face of the complicated developments of the A/H5 avian influenza pandemic, the MoARD has proposed the Chairpersons of the People's Committees of the provinces and cities nationwide to direct departments, sectors and authorities at all levels to focus on implementing solutions against avian influenza caused by different virus strains A/H5N1, A/H5N6, A/H5N8 in a drastic and synchronous way…
