Tan Uyen City reaches out in industrialization and urbanization

On April 12, Tan Uyen City held a ceremony to announce Resolution No. 725/ NQ-UBTVQH15, dated February 13, 2023 of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee “On the establishment of Tan Uyen city of Binh Duong province" that takes effect from April 10, 2023. This is a motivation for Tan Uyen City to progress to a class-two urban area by 2025 as set out by the 12th City Party Resolution, term 2020-2025.

Create a new foundation and rise

Party Committee of Tan Uyen City specifies the overall goal for the 2020-2025 term is to continue to build a clean and strong Party Committee; improve state management capacity and efficiency; accelerate economic restructuring in the direction of industry - service - agriculture, rapidly increasing the proportion of service sector; industrial growth combined with service development, urban and residential area development according to planning. The city also enhances investment in socio-economic infrastructure in the direction of modernity as a driving force for development; maintain political stability, social order and safety; perform well the administrative reform in parallel with the fight against corruption, waste, and bureaucracy.

The city makes effort to building a contingent of Party members, especially leaders and managers on a par with their tasks in the new situation, and well implemented the arrangement of the government apparatus, streamline the staff to be lean, effective, and efficient; bring into play the strength of the great national unity bloc; ensure social security, improve people's life; strives that by 2025, Tan Uyen city will reach class-two urban standards.

After half a term, Party Committee of Tan Uyen City has achieved many outstanding results. Tan Uyen City has grown up in the cause of industrialization, modernization and urbanization. In 2022, in the difficult context, Tan Uyen city welcomed 287 more domestic enterprises with a total registered capital of 989 billion VND; 10 FDI enterprises with total registered capital of 54.43 million USD. The city is having two Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park’s projects, which are the largest in Binh Duong and the whole country. These are VSIP 2 with an area of 2,045 hectares and VSIP 3 with more than 1,000 hectares, total infrastructure investment expected to be VND 6,407 billion. Lego Group (Denmark) officially broke ground on the project to build a factory here with a total investment of more than 1 billion USD.

Transport infrastructure system in Tan Uyen city is well-invested, large-scale, creating a driving force for the city to develop further.

Projects of science, technology, and high-tech agriculture are effectively maintained. Many quality products in the program "One commune, one product" (OCOP) have been recognized at district and provincial levels, creating motivation for development. Many products bearing local characteristics, such as Bach Dang Pomelo, Thanh Hoi Vegetables, are expanding their markets and are favored by many customers inside and outside the province. The project of building a model new rural commune in the 2021-2025 period in combination with the pilot construction of a smart village in Bach Dang commune initially gained good results, changes the face of the countryside, improves the quality of people’s lives.

Doan Hong Tuoi, Chairman of Tan Uyen City People's Committee, said that the 12th Party Congress of the city, term 2020-2025, set out many tasks and solutions suitable to the actual situation of the locality. Accordingly, the city's government and branches realized the resolution by programs and plans of each field and sector for an effective implementation. In which, to focus on investing in key projects for socio-economic development, national defense and security; to attach importance to planning urbanization, to develop industry, commerce and services and to build urban agriculture in the direction of modernity. The Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations intensify information, communication, and organize practical action movements among union members and people so that the Resolution can be realized effectively.

Building a civilized and modern city

According to Doan Hong Tuoi, in the coming time, in terms of economy, Tan Uyen city will develop trade and tourism services to become the main economic sector; diversify types of high-quality services; building a system of shopping centers, supermarkets, strongly developing financial services, banking, postal, telecommunications, information technology, science and technology; to step up the development of industry - handicrafts; creating breakthroughs, driving forces to promote sustainable development; develop the agricultural economy in combination with urbanization towards urban ecological agriculture, improve the efficiency of agricultural land use; develop Bach Dang and Thanh Hoi communes to become the main agricultural production areas of Tan Uyen city according to the urban ecological agriculture model.

Functional subdivision of Tan Uyen city will include: Production zones maintain existing industrial zones and clusters; warehouses and wharves concentrate in industrial parks and Thanh Phuoc river ports; service areas include eco-tourism area Mekong-Golf-Villas on Bach Dang isle, parks in lowland areas along Dong Nai river; commercial centers and markets in Khanh Binh, Uyen Hung, Thai Hoa and Tan Hiep wards; educational and medical construction works; cultural and sport projects...

Tan Uyen City will invest in building a power grid to ensure a stable and safe power supply; complete the communication infrastructure, underground the existing cable car routes, provide various postal and telecommunications services towards high communication services; pay attention to water supply, wastewater drainage, and environmental sanitation systems. Additionally, the city continues to improve the quality of health care and education and promote socialization in the socio-cultural fields; to step up the cultural lifestyle movement; well implement policies on social security, ethnicity and religion. The city also continues to strengthen the all-people national defense integrated with the people's security posture, building a solid and comprehensive defense area; accelerate administrative reform; strengthen the application of science - technology, digital transformation, improve service quality for people and businesses.

With the tradition of solidarity, unification of will, action, joint effort, togetherness to overcome difficulties, the Party Committee, government, and people of Tan Uyen will continue to develop Tan Uyen city soon into a civilized, modern and sustainable city.

One of the important and leverage factors for Tan Uyen City to be recognized as a provincial city is the well-invested and large-scale system of roads with high regional connectivity. Therefore, Tan Uyen city will continue to improve the internal transport system, plan for two passenger bus stations, develop waterway traffic, port system; plan for the development of a rational, advanced and modern public passenger transport network.
