Tan Uyen marks HCMYU’s 85th founding anniversary

Early Mar.21, Tan Uyen town’s Youth Union held a get-together to mark the 85th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMYU) (Mar.26, 1931-Mar.26, 2016). At the get-together, delegates reviewed the construction and development of the HCMYU during the 85 past years.

Young people in the town last year continued working out practical works such as further upgrading a youth work on “Installing solar-powered lamps at town’s martyrs’ cemetery”; making rural roads, building houses of compassion, providing free medical check-ups for policy beneficiary and needy families. The town’s Youth Union also mobilized organizations, individuals to build 2 houses of compassion worth more than VND85mln; awarded “green dream” scholarships worth VND30mln; equipping town’s Cultural House for Children with 1,500 green trees and 1,000 flower pots; admitted additional 1,578 members, recommended 149 outstanding members to the Communist Party of Vietnam.

On this occasion, four individuals were awarded the mementoes “For young generation” for their contributions to the cause of educating and training Vietnamese young generation.
