Economy with positive recovery

Reporting to provincial delegation, Doan Hong Tuoi, Chairman of Tan Uyen city’s People's Committee said that since early this year, the city’s Party Standing Committee focused on directing the good implementation of tasks on socio-economic development, ensuring national defense-security, Party and political system. Accordingly, the city's socio-economic situation continued achieving more positive results than the same period in 2023 in most fields, creating momentum for growth of the whole year. There were many impressive growth indicators. For example, the city’s trade-service value was estimated at over VND 8.2trillion, up 24.35% over the same period. The city’s State budget revenue was over VND 1.9trillion, or 45% of provincial estimate. The city’s disbursement value of investment capital from the convention was nearly VND 144 billion, or 38% of the plan...

Doan Hong Tuoi, Chairman of Tan Uyen city’s People's Committee reports on the local socio-economic development situation to provincial delegation

Currently, the city is focusing on drastically directing agencies and units to urgently complete the disbursement of public investment capital in 2023 while bending on implementing investment procedures for projects in the 2024 public investment plan and speeding up the construction progress of transitional projects; urgently prepare documents and pay compensation for the project of dredging and reinforcing Cai stream at the section from Tho Ut bridge to Ben San bridge and the project of upgrading and expanding DH402 road; strengthen compensation-site clearance and promptly resolve obstacles in key works such as building DT746 road from Tan Thanh junction to Hoi Nghia, way to the bridge on the Binh Duong side and building Bach Dang 2 bridge under the Bridge Construction Project across the Dong Nai River; building DH403 road, Binh Duong environmental water improvement project and power grid projects...

Many roads need to be invested, upgraded

At the meeting, Tan Uyen city proposed many issues related to investment, development and exploitation of the local infrastructure system; considered allocating capital to implement such projects as upgrading and expanding road DT747A at the section from Thai Hoa to Uyen Hung with 4 lanes, width of 28m; upgrading and expanding DT747B road at the section from Thay Tho pagoda to Ong Tiep bridge.

Regarding the project to upgrade and expand DT742 road at the section through Tan Uyen city, the city’s Party Standing Committee suggested provincial Party Standing Committee to consider allocating capital for implementation of the project with 6 lanes and width of 42m to meet the needs of developing a traffic network connecting with belt road 4 of Ho Chi Minh city and Ho Chi Minh city – Chon Thanh expressway, aiming at attracting investment and creating motivation for the socio-economic development of the city in particular and the province in general.

Also regarding to the traffic system, Tan Uyen city proposed the province to soon consider continuing to deploy and construct the remaining part of DT746 road at the section from Uyen Hung to Tan My in North Tan Uyen district to soon connect with belt road 4 of Ho Chi Minh city. In addition, the city’s traffic system in the southern region connecting with Thuan An city and Di An city through DT747B, DT743 and DH401 roads connecting with My Phuoc - Tan Van expressway has formed up an arterial traffic axis connecting Binh Duong province with Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh city. However, DH401 road from the foot of Thanh Hoi bridge in Thai Hoa ward to the border of Thuan An city is very narrow with the width of 7m with 2 lanes. Every year, the city’s People's Committee allocates funds for upgrading the road, but it is often damaged, due to the high traffic density... Therefore, the city also proposed the province to consider allocating capital to invest in the task of upgrading and expanding DH401 road in Thai Hoa ward, with the width of 20m and 4 lanes to relieve traffic pressure and ensure traffic safety, connecting traffic between branch roads and the traffic axis of My Phuoc - Tan Van expressway...

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Loi spoke highly of results done by Tan Uyen city in the first 4 months of the year, creating a foundation for the city to successfully complete its tasks in 2024. He noted that the city needs to continue the spirit of "self-reflection, self-correction, self-remediation" of recognized shortcomings, thereby reviewing targets and plans to focus on leading and directing effective implementation.

Mr. Loi also noted that Tan Uyen city is now home to many key traffic projects of the Government and the province passing through, so it is necessary to focus on site clearance work, especially for the Ho Chi Minh City-Chon Thanh Expressway project, DT746 road, Bach Dang 2 bridge...He requested Tan Uyen city to coordinate with functional agencies to calculate solutions to connect traffic routes passing through the area to ensure optimality on transportation as well as intra-regional and regional connectivity.

Also according to him, Tan Uyen city needs to be more proactive in mobilizing resources from land, from local planning... to allocate capital for infrastructure projects, especially the traffic infrastructure ones, in order to build a smooth traffic network, with intra-regional and regional connectivity, effectively serving the local tasks on socio-economic development in the coming time.

Doan Hong Tuoi, Chairman of Tan Uyen city’s People's Committee said that as of now, the city has had 6 out of 25 targets reaching and exceeding the resolution set for 2024. These are respectable results in the context of the general situation still having many difficulties and challenges...
