Tan Uyen district’s Association for the Elderly last year closely attached to the local political tasks and took initiative in implementing activities taking care of the elderly.

Particularly, the district’s Association for the Elderly and its affiliates visited and presented Tet gifts to 1,620 sick elderly people; mobilized donors to provide free medical check-ups and medicine for 99 elderly people with a total expense of VND181mln; provided free eye examination and surgery to 99 elderly people with a total expense of VND590mln. The district’s Association for the Elderly also admitted additional 512 members. So far, the whole district has had 22 executive boards and 124 affiliates of the association with 11,313 members.

Noticeably, the whole district now has 163 elderly people who are the owners of farms and 208 being the owners of trading-service facilities.
