Tan Uyen realizes goal of achieving second-class city ahead of 2025

Yesterday morning (June 20), Tan Uyen city’s Party Committee held a conference to review the half-tenure implementation of the Resolution of the 12th local Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure. The conference was attended by Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission. With the point of view of “objectively assessing the causes of advantages and disadvantages; reviewing the targets, setting out specific directions and solutions for the unsatisfactory targets", Tan Uyen city’s Party Committee is determined to achieve the set targets and resolutions, realizing the goal of developing Tan Uyen into a second-class city before 2025.

Achieving and exceeding 13 out of 24 targets

Over the past 3 years, despite facing many challenges and difficulties, under the direction of the city’s Party Committee, the political system, the business community and the people of Tan Uyen city upheld the spirit of solidarity, creativity, efforts to synchronously deploy many tasks and solutions, achieving many positive results in all fields. The city has so far achieved and exceeded 13 out of 24 targets. The remaining targets are basically implemented under the plan. The local economic structure was shifted in line with the orientation of industry - service - agriculture with the proportions of 64.17% - 34.6% - 1.23%, respectively; industrial production value increased by 10.66% per year; total retail sales revenue of goods and services increased by 18.28% per year…

The urban appearance in Tan Uyen city gets more and more prosperous, civilized and modern

Noticeably, only in a short period, Tan Uyen town’s Party Committee has led to fulfill city upgrading criteria and was issued a Resolution on the establishment of Tan Uyen city by the National Assembly Standing Committee on February 13, 2023. So far, Tan Uyen city has achieved 83.26 points under the criteria of second-class city classification, basically reaching a second-class city under the regulations.

Faster, more solid growth

At the conference, departments, sectors and localities had lots of discussion to evaluate and clarify the situation and results of the implementation of the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the city’s 12th Party congress for the 2020-2025 tenure set out, including the situation of deploying and implementing the work of developing Party members, the quality of Party organizations; the results of improving the quality and efficiency of mass mobilization work in the new context; investment in infrastructure development in association with urban planning and rejuvenation; solutions to improve the quality of people's health care and socialization in the healthcare field...

Bui Minh Tri, Secretary of Tan Uyen city’s Party Committee affirmed that the achievements in the past half tenure are the premise, favorable conditions and an important driving force for Tan Uyen city to develop faster and more firmly in the following years towards successfully implementing the common goal set out by the Resolution of the local 12th Party Congress, helping Tan Uyen reach criteria of a second-class city. Therefore, in the coming time, all-level Party committees, agencies, units and localities must further focus on thoroughly grasping, being determined to maintain and successfully implement the targets of the resolution. During the implementation process, they need to ensure working regulations and principles of the Party's activities, strictly implement the conclusions and directions of the city’s Party Standing Committee; clearly define focuses in each field, with specific solutions to lead, operate and organize the fulfillment of tasks of each level and each sector.

Tan Uyen city will further promote economic restructuring in the right direction, well implement planning and planning management, focus on infrastructure investment in accordance with urban development orientations, prioritize the allocation of investment capital for implementation, ensuring criteria of a second-class city; well realize policies on social welfare; improve the quality of health care and education.

Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee spoke highly of the results done by Tan Uyen city’s Party Committee over the past time. He suggested that in the coming time, Tan Uyen city’s Party Committee will further lead the work of building the Party and the government at requirements and tasks in the new context. The city should pay attention to strengthening and consolidating all-level cadres; make planning, training, rotation and arrangement of cadres in a substantive direction, creating a driving force for development; strengthen the management, administration and performance of official duties; be close to the people, listen to the people's thoughts and aspirations; well implement the planning of socio-economic development towards the common goal of the local development; review and strictly handle violations of land, construction order and environment; well implement criteria on culture, society, national defense - security...
