Tan Uyen town approves two projects of pomelo trees in Bach Dang commune and vegetable products in Thanh Hoi commune

Morning May 3, Science and Technology Council of Tan Uyen Town, chaired by Ngo Quang Su, Vice Chairman of the Town People's Committee, approved one project of grading, recognizing, and developing pomelo trees in Bach Dang commune and one project of developing and managing collective brand for Thanh Hoi vegetable products".

At the meeting, representatives of provincial Center for Sustainable Agricultural Research and Development gave details on these two topics. To the pomelo project, the general objective was to select the best pomelo entities to build a nursery for the conservation, management and efficient exploitation of Bach Dang pomelo seed. The implementation period is 30 months to build a nursery garden of 10,000 m2.

To the Thanh Hoi vegetables project, the objective is to improve the protection of intellectual property rights for the community, establish rights to " Thanh Hoi vegetables" brand name; identify effective solutions to add values to the products; establish linkages between production and consumption of products, transfer qualified technical processes of vegetable production under collective trademark; Implementation duration is 18 months.

Speaking at the meeting, Ngo Quang Su, Vice Chairman of Tan Uyen town People's Committee, agreed on the importance of the two projects; at the same time, he suggested functional sectors to notice opinions of council members and complete the two projects. He affirmed that the implementation of the above projects was necessary to meet the demand for developing special pomelo variety of gardeners and in accordance with development orientations of the town; enhance the use of collective trademark in the practice of production and commercialization of vegetable products of the region.
