Tan Uyen town: Many bright spots in socio-economic development

Working with Tan Uyen town’s Party Standing Committee yesterday morning (July 29), Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation highly appreciated results on socio-economic development, national defense-security and political system building done by the town in the first 7 months of 2022. This is a premise for the town to successfully complete its tasks in 2022 and the following years.

Many targets achieved well

Early July 29, a delegation of Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation had a working session with Tan Uyen town’s Party Standing Committee. The event was attended by Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments and sectors in the province.

Reporting to the delegation on the local socio-economic situation, national defense - security and political system building in the first 7 months of 2022, orientations and tasks for the rest of the year, Nguyen Huu Tri, Permanent Vice-Secretary of Tan Uyen town’s Party Committee said that in the first 7 months of 2022, under the leadership of the Executive Committee of the town's Party Committee, the administration of the town's People's Committee and the efforts by the whole political system, the local socio-economic situation continued developing. Particularly, the town’s value of industrial production and construction was estimated at more than VND12.97 trillion, up 11.92% over the same period or 39.34% of the target of the resolution set out by the People's Council in 2022. The town’s retail sales revenue of goods and services was estimated at more than VND9.11 trillion, up 23.55% over the same period or 51.27% of the target of the resolution set out by the People's Council's resolution in 2022. Planning and planning management continued being focused on by the town to ensure compliance with the plan and schedule. Currently, the town is editing its general planning to 2040, approved by provincial Party Standing Committee and provincial People's Committee, under contributive ideas to submit it to provincial People's Committee for approval. The town has also completed its dossier on the project of establishing Tan Uyen city under Binh Duong province and submitted it to the Ministry of Home Affairs for appraisal.

In addition, the town has often paid attention to directing and urging sectors, the People's Committees of communes and wards to urgently settle investment capital in 2021 while implementing investment procedures for works in the local public investment plan for 2022, speeding up transition works. As of June 30, 2022, the town’s disbursement value of public investment capital in 2022 was more than VND 278.95 trillion or 51% of the plan. The town’s total State budget revenue was more than VND 1.77trillion, or 87% of the year’s estimate...

The town further maintained national defense - security with social security guaranteed and people's lives constantly improved. The town’s Party building work continued obtaining positive changes while the town’s mass mobilization work as well as activities of mass organizations continued operating effectively. The town also effectively realized the movements of patriotic emulation, building cultural lifestyle, taking care of people's material and spiritual lives.

At the session, leader of Tan Uyen town petitioned for a number of contents, including building a resettlement area to serve the work of compensation and site clearance because the town has to carry out many key infrastructure projects such as the belt road 4, Ho Chi Minh city - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway...; upgrading DT747a, 747b, DT742 streets; setting up a regime to support volunteers to perform public services at levels 3 and 4 because the People's Committees of towns, wards and communes have deployed public services at levels 3 and 4 from January 1, 2022 with the support of volunteers…

Creating new development space

Speaking at the session, Mr. Loi praised Tan Uyen town for its comprehensive results in all fields, especially State budget collection, public investment disbursement and investment attraction. He also asked for the town to self-examine, self-review and self-correct for shortcomings pointed out in the process of performing the local tasks.

Regarding some tasks in the coming time, Mr. Loi said that although the general plan of Tan Uyen town until 2040 has been approved by provincial Party Standing Committee and provincial People's Committee, the town's leaders need to be proactive to coordinate with relevant units of the province to urgently review public land plots for development space arrangement. In addition, he asked for the town to study the planning of inter-regional traffic routes for infrastructure connection to create a new development space for the town. The town must pay attention to allocating resources to implement planning. In addition to resources from the central, provincial and local State budget, the town needs to create resources from land, from socialization...The town also needs to focus on State budget collection for the rest of the year; continued accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital and prepare its public investment plan for 2023 right now; continue meeting businesses to promptly remove obstacles, creating all favorable conditions for them in the process of the local investment and development.

In terms of the project of establishing Tan Uyen city under the province, Mr. Loi noted that the town needs to immediately perform a number of tasks, such as: carrying out urban rejuvenation, implementing projects for people's welfare, ensuring environmental sanitation so that every citizen is proud and happy when Tan Uyen turns into the city.

In parallel with economic development tasks, provincial Party Committee Secretary asked for the town to focus on handling the Covid-19 pandemic, not being negligent, subjective and paying attention to vaccination against the pandemic. Along with that, the town needs to actively prevent and treat dengue fever with the spirit of people's health first and foremost. In addition, he required the town to further maintain national defense and security, build a pure and strong Party and political system, and build a contingent of qualified cadres when it will become a city in the near future. "Tan Uyen town should continue upholding the tradition of solidarity, making efforts to overcome difficulties in order to successfully complete tasks in 2022 and the following years...", he emphasized.
