Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, affirmed that Binh Duong is one of the localities with many advantages for developing logistics services with railway stations, interregional road systems, always ranking among the top in the country in attracting foreign investment. To keep up with the development trend, the province needs to promote comprehensive development of logistics services, establish connections between logistics and businesses in production and trade within the area. Binh Duong is making efforts to shape and develop sustainable logistics ecosystems, leveraging the advantages of the 4th Industrial Revolution, optimizing the efficiency of digital and green transformations in the logistics sector to reduce costs and enhance competitiveness.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thi Thu Hoa, Vietnam Logistics Research Institute, affirms that with the advantage of strategic location, along with the development of industrial sector and synchronized urban infrastructure, transportation, industrial clusters, Binh Duong has all the conditions to develop and become a center for industrial support services, science and technology in the Southeast region, in which the logistics sector has sufficient inherent potential to become one of the important economic sectors, the spearhead of the province. However, the immediate important thing is that Binh Duong enterprises need to promote the application of technology, promote digital transformation in management and develop corresponding logistics human resources.

Mr. Le Manh Ha, Director of TBS logistics, said that currently global and domestic trade is facing many difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, economic instability, and political unrest in some countries. The global supply chain is disrupted, affecting the operations of logistics, which are considered the "backbone" of the supply chain. The reality has posed a demand for logistics service businesses to accelerate the digital transformation process in order to both overcome difficulties and take advantage of the benefits of the 4th Industrial Revolution, which is associated with green and sustainable development requirements. When applying digital transformation solutions, businesses can effectively manage prices, ensure absolute transparency, significantly reduce error rates and excess costs.

To be inflow with the trends

Logistics companies are quickly adapting to the trend of digital transformation by applying modern technology to optimize the production, supply, and transportation of goods and services. Among these, data digitization, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and Big Data for analysis, help reduce transportation costs, improve customer experience, minimize risks, and increase revenue.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade: In order to keep up with the development trend, the province needs to promote comprehensive development of logistics services, establish connections between logistics and manufacturing and trading enterprises in the area. Binh Duong is striving to shape and develop sustainable logistics ecosystem, leveraging the advantages of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, optimizing the efficiency of digital transformation and green transformation in the logistics sector to reduce costs and enhance competitiveness.

Lieutenant Colonel Do Thu Huong, Deputy Director of Marketing of Saigon Newport Corporation, said that Saigon Newport has proposed an integrated port and logistics ecosystem solution along with the application of a digital ecosystem. In this solution, the unit focuses on green logistics solutions for the Thanh Phuoc - Tan Cang Cat Lai waterway route and the Cai Mep port cluster, playing a pioneering role in promoting green transportation methods. The new Tan Vạn depot of Tan Cang is located in the central distribution area for the provinces of Bình Dương, Dong Nai, and Ho Chi Minh city, providing empty container management services, facilitating businesses in the area.

Specifically, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Thanh Son, Deputy Director of ICD Tan Cang Song Than, said that ICD Tan Cang Song Than is the top choice for the distribution center solution of manufacturing enterprises such as Kimberly Clark, Food Empire VN, Mondelez Kinh Do, and also serves as a connection point with dynamic industrial zones in Binh Duong such as VSIP 1, VSIP 2 etc. to maximize two-way container transportation. In addition to the external warehouse solution, ICD Tan Cang Song Than has proposed a group of solutions for reducing waiting time at the port, solving the risk of "ship dropping" due to traffic congestion, with almost unchanged input costs and some solutions for on-site import and export that many businesses are interested in.
